I like where this is going. Whoever said this was a free forum was lying. I've spent more on my truck because of this forum than I've spent on clothes for my kids.

Big shout out to RCI Metalworks for allowing me the opportunity to install a wicked dual battery system in their badass 2016 Tacoma today.

For your TRD-OR? The split battery kit is available now. Just like the one I installed in the RCI truck today.

Ordered a dual kit and can't wait to get it here and hook it up. Matt was super helpful on the phone with a bunch of questions I had.

One that I forgot to ask is about a voltage meter. Does the full kit come with one? If not, what do you and others use/recommend?

EDIT: I AM NOW SELLING THESE FOR THE CENTER CONSOLE OF 2ND GEN TACOMAS!

None of my kits currently come with a voltmeter. I can prewire your in-cab harness for dual voltmeters for an extra 15 bucks. This is how I currently run my truck...

It is a cheap voltmeter that I wired through a SPDT momentary switch. 1 is main batt, 2 is aux batt. All of this mounted on a custom panel that took me far too long to make.

For those that are interested, here are a few more pics of how it was constructed. I was thinking of building these and selling them as an add-on... but honestly, I have my hands full designing trays for different trucks. So, feel free to take this idea and build one for your truck! I can prewire your harness for both voltmeters!

That does look great but way above my skill level. Will look for a pre made one that shows both batteries. Something plug n play.

Lol yeah my first attempted failed cut to much on one side. ill use it to mock up stuff. Using thin aluminum sheet. I made a template out of carboard for the curve ill give it another shot. Been debating just dremeling the plastic and mounting it flush on the side. But i like the volt meter you did. image.jpg

lol. Now you see what I mean. I know I can get it cut via water jet or CNC but the bends also have to be perfect. It might be a project I take on later but not now. If you want to spend a few hours at my place, we can definitely make you one... but it looks like you're already on the right track. I'd use heavier gauge steel though. With only two mounting tabs, they like to flex.
