It looks like it may fit. As long as there is enough room to access those two forward-most studs, you should be good.

Sub'd after tires and roof rack dual batts will be next on my list. Can the Blue Sea system be made to work with solar? I was given a a Renogy 100 watt solar panel what is the exact width of the Baja rack I am adding.

Absolutely. Solar can be plumbed in to the auxiliary battery to keep it topped off as you use it. Just make sure to install a proper charge controller if the solar panel does not have one built in.

I must say Off-Grid Engineering's customer service is second to none.. Matt has been incredibly fast responding to all my messages. Thank you!

In case anyone is wondering how an Optima 34 fits; it fits pretty damn well.. the tie down bracket is a little close, but that's to be expected since it wasn't really designed for this battery
    IMG_0613.jpg

the A/C line is actually under the floor of the tray
    IMG_0616.jpg

    IMG_0617.jpg

The main battery fits well too... but neither stock cable fits, but as stated.. not the intended use

Just responding to your email now....

Everything looks great! Thanks for posting pics and the awesome feedback! A couple suggestions...

The Optima batteries should have come with a spacer plate. That will eliminate the excess tiedown rod... mostly aesthetic, but something to think about. I also have been know to cut the tiedown rods if the extra space is desired on top of the battery.

The tiedown plate is pretty darn close. Im wondering if the mil-spec terminals provided in my kits will even fit. I have a 1.5" wide, non-conductive tiedown coming out very shortly (less than a week). It looks like you (and anyone else running these batteries) will be a perfect candidate for them.

As far as the stock battery cables not fitting... I provide cable extensions in my kits to address that... PM me if this is something you'd be interested in. I'd send you some for cost.

    Thanks again!

I have to check, I think the bolt closest to the air box might be blocked by the mounting unit for the the air compressor. I'll try to take more pics of the area and send them to you.

    Hi matt,
i bought your passenger side battery tray but space in general is running low so i am considering mounting my fuse boxes/relays there and going with a double tray. Are the batteries for the front mount a different size compared to stock?

    Yes.
I am excited to get it installed. It's even my week off, but I have so much to do I'm not sure if I will have the time.

@HeliMedic with the dual battery mount in the factory position, can the oil filter still be removed without having to take anything out?

The batteries for all of my trays are recommended to be Group 35. This is smaller than the factory battery. To install the dual battery tray, you would need two Group 35's.

Your other option is to install a tray specifically for your fuse box and relays like Pelfreybilt makes... or you could make your own. Theres some pretty creative solutions around here.

But... if you really want a dual battery tray for the drivers side... I have them ready to go!
