I have someone making some bussmann rtmr's. I plan to pick up your dual battery tray in the future. Going to have to save up for those batteries too though. I'll be in touch as i get closer to that part of my build.

K&N makes a filter that can be taken off with a wrench.

Got Matt's tray Saturday and installed this evening. Install took 7 - 10 minutes tops! Matt, nice product and great customer service! Still deciding on Blue Sea isolator and remote switching or CTEK D250S Dual with Smart Pass option for isolator/charger and solar capability down the road.

With this kit installed, how would one add (install) a proper solar charger to the mix? I have been looking at the Goal Zero Boulder 30 solar panels but they don't offer a controller, just a generator, and I don't need another large piece of gear in the back of my truck.

Additionally does anyone have a recommendation for a solid controller?

These are great solar packages. They come with built in controllers. They also come with a short lead with power pole connectors. I just built a custom harness for one that extends this lead so that you can mount it to your auxiliary battery.

After some research, this seems like it does more than just connect solar power to the second battery and for the price i would expect it to. Do you know of any write-ups on TW that have used this in conjunction with the Blue sea ML-ACR?

Look at my post #251 on page 13. I mounted ML ACR on the OEM fuse box. I have it mounted flush against the side closest to the engine so I have room for the Switchpro as well. All this depends on how long your cables are as I specifically asked helimedic for this custom length. Hope this helps!

I see you mounted the switch in the Glove compartment......my cable not long enough......maybe I'll cut into the dash by the engine on/ off.....

Yes. I mounted mine in the center console on a custom panel I made. Because most people don't have this custom panel and would prefer not to have the extra 4 feet of harness coiled up behind their dash, I elect to cut most harnesses at 8 feet. If you'd like a longer harness, feel free to send your ML-ACR back to me and I will happily lengthen it for you.
