    Is it necessary to put back those rubber strips back on the truck? Or can I just take them off and replace with some kind 3m tape or so?

    To all of thos having trouble with the rubber. I used a 7/8ths hole saw bit that also had a drill bit attached to keep the saw centered. A friend helped hold the rubber still and my holes turned out great. I did have to make some slightly bigger with a utility knife to get appropriate allignment with the anchor points in the roof, but nothing crazy. Take your time with measurement, the rubbers are a bitch, but it is doable.

    DIY Leather hole punch.

    Took a short piece of 3/4 EMT conduit, sharpened the inside with a step bit and filed the outside.

    Tried it on a piece of hard vinyl flooring and it worked wonderfully. Won't be installing my rack for another two weeks or so but I think this will work just fine as a punch for the ditch mouldings.

    Install took about 3.5 hours at Front Runner. It came out so amazing! I have been very hesitant to buy a roof rack because I never really liked them on Tacoma's but the more and more I saw this one and how it, to me, stood out from the rest I knew I had to have it. This GroupBuy was awesome and I appreciate it! I'll have pics up soon but I have another rack I want to install first on my bed rack so no pics yet but I can't be happier! If you are local and worried about messing up the rubber pieces I'd recommend having Front Runner do the install. It took long and was a little pricey but it's flawless and WAY better than anything I would have done! So stoked guys!
