My guess is the rewire should be easy as long as the wires are all exposed. Cut the power wires to the leds and SPlice them into the wires for the side marker llights. They are led so very little power draw.

I also have officially decided I hate FedEx. I am going on vacation on thursday (the day my lights are supposed to arrive) so I can not sign for the box. I played the extra $5 to have it redirected to my work so they can sign it. Today I got a email from FedEx that they are delivering it a day early on Wednesday. I am already off from work and will be home all day Wednesday....

Sounds like a person defending their purchase of stupid $ retros. If these don't last, I'll still have the stockers.

Like @HawkShot99 said, at least we still have stock. Retros for $600+ are fine, but if these go bad, we can always try to retro those to our liking. No need to the hatred.

It's funny you say that cause I think I'd trust a manufacturing line that produces thousands of headlights in comparison to a dude who works out of his garage and thinks he knows everything after making 20 sets of headlights.

Good luck with your business but there is no need to bash a good deal on headlights just to make your headlights seem like a superior product. If people want to spend $600 plus on headlights then there is your market. No need to be in this thread cause we are all buying sub $300 headlights.

Did you even defend yourself? Like we said, we know they are cheap. No one cares. It's still less expensive than being quoted over a thousand dollars for a random person to put projectors inside of a stock headlight.

The whole 40 lbs is over the top, but 15% off covered this and it's still cheaper than almost all the websites it's listed on, and at least we know it's from spyder and comes with a warranty instead of some random dude off of eBay.

So if all you want to do is ridicule a cheap headlight set that some people want to buy, I suggest you go somewhere else and complain about them where someone gives a shit.

Are they 100% DOT legal? Is there a way for a pissed off cop to issue me tickets for them?

You backing them is not a warranty. And $5-600 is over double what these lights cost and a heck more than my truck payment.
You have greatly missed the entire point of why people are annoyed at you. You come on here bashing a product people are happy with, offering up something that does not even compete. Then as you post in all your for sale threads you want money sent to you as a "friend" so there is no protection to the buyer.

This guy even did a thread here on TW about how to do this step by step
I don't get why your charging $600 for retros when your basically just doing the same thing as in this video ? I don't know how that could be considered a deal. Just my two cents tho.

I get what your saying, but jumping into a budget thread to bash people and try to push your lights over the budget ones is just kind of arrogant and ingnorant.

Not to mention you bashed the shipping cost here but just quoted the same cost for shipping as these lights that come with a warrenty that is reputable , you say that you have a warranty but who's to know if you just decided to change name and disappear.

All in all no one here went to your posts to bash your excessively priced lights so I don't know what the deal is .

No, we are not agreeing or disagreeing or agreeing to disagree. We are saying different things. You, as the immature, sophomoric child you've shown yourself to be, still don't understand how wrong you are in coming here, as a purveyor of your own goods, thinking it's a good idea to jump in and bash something others are doing, simply because it is different than what you offer (and yes you were bashing, so don't bother saying you weren't, you aren't convincing anyone). You wrote, "At that price ill bet they don't last very long. They look cool but the lights will be blowing out in no time [bashing] and i see sun faded lenses on the horizon [bashing]". Coming to this thread and saying that, is no different than if you had your own product thread in the buy/sell/trade section, promoting your hand-crafted retro headlights, and one of your higher-priced competitors came to your page and posted, "At that price ill bet they don't last very long. They look cool but the lights will be falling apart in no time, the projectors look like they're mounted all wonky, and I see that rattle-can paint peeling on the horizon".

Some people will be ok with buying headlights that have been, quite possibly, shoddily assembled in some random kid's garage, who could easily get the projectors mounted wrong so they aren't even pointed correctly (I've read posts on TW where people, after buying retrofitted headlights from some random person who builds them in their garage, had to push their aiming adjustments as far as they would go just to get close to a correct light-throw), and probably paints with cheap rattle-cans. OTHER people are ok buying assembly-line headlights that actually carry DOT and SAE certification, and were actually engineered, by engineers. Are they cheaper than factory? You bet, and we know it. Both are legitimate options for different people. Not a single person who reads your posts is going to be interested in doing business with you, because if your childish idea of contributing to a conversation is any indication of your maturity, no mature adult in their right mind would ever consider subjecting themselves to dealing with you. If you want to be taken seriously as a builder of custom goods, or even be considered a mature adult, you might want to consider rethinking your strategy, not to mention staying in school, and finishing college.

    On a side note..
I'm not sure what quality headlights you think you're buying that won't experience UV degradation, but my factory headlights are already fading.

Will the lights 'blow'? Well I'm still going to use the same high-quality light bulbs that I currently use, so it's unlikely those bulbs will suddenly become crap, simply by placing them in a different housing. The built-in LEDs could potentially be low quality, and could eventually stop working (diodes, being a semiconductor sandwich of crystalline silicon, don't 'blow', they simply change from a semiconductor to an insulator when they fail), but I have bags of hundreds of various-intensity, high quality LEDs, and I can build my own complete replacement circuit in about an hour, IF the LEDs actually do fail.

When I decide to spend the time and money on building custom retrofitted headlights, I'm going to do it myself, because, with my mechanical and electrical engineering experience and my attention to detail, I know I'm going to do it right. When it comes to safety equipment such as headlights, correct function trumps aesthetics, so I'm not going to pay some random person, who I don't know, and who has no established reputation, to build my safety equipment for me. Buying these inexpensive headlights will allow me to build the factory headlights into what I want, at my own pace, without needing to get them done immediately just so my wife has headlights in her truck.

Also, thanks for helping to keep this thread at the top of the list, buddy.
