    I believe the basic is a different gas spring than the plus/elite. The basic hardware is zinc coated versus black powder coat with plus/elite. The plus spring is e-coated black, elite is stainless. Basic/plus has 4 year warranty, Elite has 5 year. Even though basic/plus have the same warranty the plus seems to be the better spring IMO. The GB is for plus or elite.
