Here was my reply to pulleyboys. Feel free to copy and send to them as well.

    Hello,
I received order for 2.6 and 2.7 quickchange pulleys. The 2.7 has your engraving on it. This was not noted ,pictured or described in listing. I would like to exchange it out for one without the markings. Any help is greatly appreciated.

They only come in black. They used to come in silver but an anodized pulley is actually stronger than it's original bare counterpart.

I can't leave anything well enough alone
I have the same thing/feeling as others. 2.8 has poorly done markings, 2.5 is clean. I can also echo the person who said their kids have made nicer letters to Santa - my kindergartener has made better letters before... I get it that the letters are intended to be more of a logo than a perfect font, but wow. If the logos were only done once, I might not have cared as much, but since they are done on opposing sides of the pulley I can compare them closely, I would say they were done by hand with an engraver. There are many small places that are different from one to the other. The 's' and the '8' are clearly not the same. This does not appear laser etched, or cnc engraved. It is hand done, at least to me, my opinion. I can actually feel all the raised edges that catch my skin as I touch it, which are burrs left over from engraving, that should have been smoothed before anodizing? Or are some people's engravings silver, meaning it is done after anodize? I have some little pits of silver in some areas where the engraver stopped, where it was an anodized burr which subsequently broke off leaving a small pit or tit of bare aluminum showing (I think).

You have to email them at info@pulleyboys.com.

I've been a little inconsistent with answering personal messages lately due to constantly getting them so I read them and forget to reply back. Sorry about that.

I agree the etching looks awful. I would like clean pulleys also!

Just motivation to run the smaller pulleys with no etching. Great marketing?

Are they TRULY ANODIZED??? If surface needs to be perfectly smooth How could you tell anodized apart from powder coat or other topcoats??

Yes It is. You can tell anodized immediately from powdercoat. Powdercoat looks like legitimate paint where as anodized is bound to the metal itself on a chemical level. It has a natural appearance like it is meant to be that color. It is also much harder to remove it than powdercoat and paint.

Little off topic but at home depot today I saw this and thought it’s funny. If ply wood has to be carb exempt then I’m pretty sure these pullies having 2.7 scratched onto them isn’t going to pass lol.3E362823-7306-4317-9A85-5E6514118C73.jpg

You are overthinking this. No smog tech is going to bust out digital calipers and measure a pulley. That is too much work. The CARB paperwork neither specifies that the OE pulley has any sort of writing on it either. So for all anyone knows the supercharger came that way.

Also, as long as the pullry is blank no one knows what the heck size it is.

If the check engine light is not on, and the vehicle runs fine and visually looks good, there is no reason why it should not pass. Again, no tech will remove belts, bust out calipers, etc etc. In order to confirm whether a pulley is the right size or not. That is not their job.

If they read the eo which I don’t know kf they do it does state a 3.0 pulley size and 6.5 crank size. I’m not saying they will say anything, but if they do it would be hard to deny it. Hopefully we can get some blank slate pulleys. If not I will see if they can make me a 3.0 I can use for smog purposes. Rather be safe than sorry.

Yeah with the CARB EOit would be impossible to say yeah it came like that with a pulley that clearly states 2.7 but the size indicated in the documentation says 3.0. In that situation you would likely lose if they did thst but if you had a blank one you are good to go.

    My shit is all stock.
I too am not down with the engraving. I haven’t seen my pulleys yet. Since they were annoyingly sent signature required. Now, I get to spend a lunch break waiting in line at the post office to see them. And when I do, and I see that Mickey Mouse crap on there. I’m gonna be pissed.
