Hey Guys, my first real post other than my intro. Like a few others, I joined TW just from this and the original 157 pages of posts on the illuminated 4x4 switch. Looks like I bought my truck just at the right time as I ordered and received my circuit board and will install this weekend.

My only request to rcbs204 is to make a night light version, so I can enjoy illuminated 4x4 goodness when I'm in my bedroom at night :rimshot:

So, sorry if I'm missing something or being stupid/lazy if I buy this switch is it just plug and play or do you still need to do the mods in some other threads to the wiring?

There is some soldering involved but its not difficult. I followed the DIY in the original post.

I did the install without the soldering, just wired direct. This was the simplest way, and unless there is some later issue, I won't have to take this back apart to service the HVAC controls.

I must have been drinking last night. This is that mod where you add a circuit board to your existing switch and wire it in right? I thought this was a replacement switch that was already illuminated.

I have to stop posting when I'm half out of it.
