    Updated the first page.

I promise I'm not trying to put anyone ahead of anyone else, but I think making batches of 6 would be easily manageable.

    I'll change it.

To get on that list you just need to say you're willing to place a deposit.

People showing interest go in the interested list.

This is for two reasons -

Things change, so I don't want people feeling like they have to fully commit at this moment (especially since the kit isn't finalized).

Those willing to place a deposit, will cover my initial cost of steel purchasing whether they want to do a partial payment, or pay in full.

If someone places a deposit, and needs to back out, they will get their full refund and the next person takes their place.

After a batch or two, I can gauge how quickly I can knock these out in a specified amount of time. From there I'll just sell in "batches".

So to answer your question of how much? $50 as a deposit or pay in full. As to where, I'll organize that in a bit but paypal will be one of those methods.

Now we just wait! If my hardware doesn't arrive by Friday, I'll ship this set out so it arrives next week for fitment check.

Stainless typically isn’t Grade 8 or 10.9 quality. It would be zinc coating as an alternative. However, don’t confuse standard black oxide coating and the process for high tensile steel. It’s more akin to nitrile processing as it affects the density as well. Rattle can won’t hurt either…

Oh I know it isn't, shear strength vs tensile strength.

Zinc alternatives looked to be quite a bit more. Already trying to keep costs low in an application where the hardware provided is more than adequate.

If I could powder coat, that'd be fucking awesome but I'm too small of an operation for that

I expect the majority of people here will indeed use rattle can.

I meant black oxide hardware versus black oxide 10.9… process differs.

Oh you're just referring to the finish.

Yeah the black oxide hardware I ordered for these sets are specifically grade 10.9 :muscleflexing:

On the subject of strength, the discontinued set if I recall correctly is 8 gauge.

Think a member measured the original set and they came in at around 0.164

You're getting a stronger set here.

I know someone posted a picture of some stickers with the TRD logo on them but I can't find it for the life of me.

I'm guessing that getting the logo to look right is going to be important, so just using Times-New-Roman-Ariel-Grande-Bold-italic font ain't gonna fly. I'm also pretty sure Toyota is protective of that font, and it isn't included in the standard Autocad or Fusion360 fonts. So I'm going to have to trace a picture or something.

Does anyone have a good DXF of a TRD logo?

    This?

I was hoping to be quick and easy about getting a DXF of it.

I can attempt to cut it out and see how clean it can be done in a small format.

The close loop on the R is the part that worries me.

YES!!! I've spent 20 minutes looking for that Flouffing picture. I'm going to pull it into AutoCAD, I'm quicker with that, and see if I can get something useful out of it.

Keep in mind @ljerr2 , there is no way to have the center of the "D" be in there if it is cut away. Doing a deboss would work though. I'm not set up for multi-material printing yet, so I'm stuck with one color.

    Bridging.

Here's a sign I made for a local shop I make parts for, you can see what I mean by the letters if you look closely.

I'll give it a shot, I know a few graphic artists who get all up in a tizzy if you make any changes to logos...:annoyed:

Hey imagine the “D” in TRD as the hole for the ratchet strap.

    haha!

Anyone in the Fresno County wanna buy/bring me a bottled beer?

Wanna test one of these two out - for aesthetic reasons I'm liking the first one more.

The one on the top right is the "plain" bracket I've mentioned a few times.
