You know I’m all about the F-Bombs…. They’re limited edition, collectible, numbered edition, no longer available options!

Just spent $40 on some overkill 316 stainless steel button head's.

Yes I know I'm stupid. I'll be able to take them out and re-use them after I forget where my car is in a lake for 50 year's though.

Excited for my batch to be up.

Hardware, raw material, all that shit is expensive :bananadead:

Small job earlier today and in no way related to these stiffies.

    Check out that flange!

    20240802_145641.jpg

Anyway, I cut these out just after cutting the remaining F Bombs.

Some here have already asked about various small jobs, and like I tell everyone "no job is too small".

I just appreciate the fact that I'm asked to do said job to begin with, plus it's nice doing something different every other day.

Purchased Toyota Certified, with Vijay bumpers, additional lights, and Falken Wildpeaks on Fuel rims. Prev owner apparently painted the grill.
I'm waiting for strap savers to print, so I thought I would get a start on the install. I found that the rounded corner of the steel bed made it tough to keep the paper template in exactly the right spot. I'm guessing that there is enough tolerance built in that a sixteenth either way isn't going to cause fitment issues, but my nature is to get as close as I can so errors don't build up.

Print out the guide and check very carefully that it printed at the right dimensions.
Check printout against scale.jpgclose up check.jpg check 2 inch dim as well.jpg
Cut out the guide. The Really Important (TM) line to get right is the bottom one that rests on the floor of the bed support.
    cut out guide.jpg
Once the guide is cut out, Put it in place on the truck - make sure it does not rest on the fiberglass tub, but rather on the steel support underneath the tub. There is a little gap in the corner that allows this.

    on bed side.jpg
    place in bed.jpg
I printed my template on 60 pound poster bond that I bought for my TOD maintenance posters, but even so I had trouble keeping the paper square on the corner, this will show up soon...
Tape the guide in place and use a center punch to mark the holes.

I'm not sure how many pics one post supports, so I'll start another.
I had some issues with parallax errors trying to check my measurements - it may be worth removing your tailgate so you can stand closer to the bed.
It's always a good idea to highlight your marks so they don't get lost in other scratches and dents.
    highlight.jpg double checkin 1.jpg double checking 2.jpg
I found that the marks were a little long of 2 inches, so I used my tri-square to make a new mark at the right spot.
If you can't easily print the guide, grab a good scale and a pencil, it works pretty well. Make marks at 10 3/16" and 12 7/16" from the bottom. Then use a tri-square to extend the line, and make a cross mark at 2".

    line at 10+.jpg
    second mark at 12+.jpg

    mark at 2.jpg
If you are using the paper guide, you can fold it backwards and tape it in place on the passenger side as well.

    using guide on passenger.jpg
Center punch on the marked cross hairs, or through the previously punched holes in the paper. Then check them with the square.

Make any corrections necessary, and then drill with a pilot drill on the marks.

Anyone not buying a 3D insert, your package is either boxed up or getting boxed up later today and shipping out Monday.

    20240803_084313.jpg

    20240803_084320.jpg

Those getting strap savers, once they arrive I'll put them in your package and ship them out that day if they arrive during the week.

Also want to add - if you PM me asking about status, my answer will be no different than what is posted here.

I post often as it keeps people in the know as to what's going on, not to mention the 30 pages prior goes into what all is involved.

I don't have a helper or any other employees, I'm one person, I buy the steel, cut it, clean it, bend it, weld it, and package it all up in my garage.

If waiting is too hard for you, please just post here or PM me that you will no longer want to wait.

    Thank you.

I will also be shipping the strap savers to Kwik Fab on Monday, I have nearly a full box, and by Monday it should be full to save on shipping.

    Well, no, but actually, yes.

Kwik Fab does not have a 3d printer. The strap savers were suggested as a way to keep straps from being damaged. I have a printer and some CAD skills. So I used @Kwikvette s model and made the strap savers.

I'm printing them as fast as I can. I'll send a batch of 12 or so to Kwik Fab Monday. When they get there, Kwikvette will unbox them and distribute them to the steel parts. They will then be sent to the end users who have requested them.

I'm asking for 10 bucks per set of strap savers. They are an add on to the basic kit - I have PayPal, not sure how the other payment systems work.

Remember also that the metric bolts will not be included. Those will need to be sourced by the end user. So yeah, they come with the kit, but like many manufacturers, individual parts are coming from different suppliers. (Like the nuts that were ordered from a hardware supplier.)

I just went over to the next building to ask my shipping manager what the status was only to find out that she ran into some legal issues.

Got our company attorney trying to talk to her about the situation.

    20240803_120428.jpg

Come to find out yours will be delayed for quite a bit since it's pending inspection. We periodically pull a box from the batch from time to time for quality control reasons.

    20240803_130836.jpg

I apologize for any delays this may cause
