If you just want to click a link and buy, then yes, those are "very good" bolts.

They are over kill, and you're paying accordingly though.

You can get away with cheaper ones, but those ones will outlive the vehicle and remain rust free

Yours didn't even ship since you wanted a 3D printed insert

Had to tear open your box this morning to remind myself that it's "on hold" with the other 3.

I'm still surprised it cost only 0.81 more to ship to Alaska meanwhile to a closer address in Canada its $60 :bananadead:

For 2nd and 3rd batch members, I'm waiting for 1st batch to receive and install their sets - at least two or three of those shipped.

If there are any hiccups with any of the sets that went out, I'd rather rectify the issue with those before making more.

One thing to note, bolts might be a tad tight when first fastening things up. This is due to the nut having been welded on as well as the the bolts chosen by the end user.

Some coatings are thicker than others.

Just ensure that you feed your bolts straight in to prevent crossthreading. I ran a bolt through each nut welded on ensuring everything fits well. This does consume a lot more time on my end but ensures I don't have to make new parts.

35 is a bit long. I’ve used Glvaner before. Good quality.

Are you planning on countersinking the four holes?

Just noticed the bolts you were referring to.

I wonder what size countersink bit is appropriate for an M10 bolt?

A 3/8" bit works great for M6 bolts; just used it for my pedal mount recently as I wanted it to sit flush against the garage floor.

If someone can explain to my the reasoning for going with grade 10.9 bolts in this application?

It’s not a load bearing structure or load, nor is it a rigging point for static load/dynamic load of a person nor cargo.

Im not trying to be rude im genuinely curious.

While I’m waiting for that, I’m planning to go with Grade 5 Galvanised bolt. (Tension Failure approx 5,000lbs. 4,000lbs in shear) is plenty in this application.

I’d rather have the bolt be the failure point (snap or stretch) so the very custom piece isn’t damaged or broken.

Just a wild guess - I'd like to believe that some people are ok with overkill since the price difference is negligible (for just 14 bolts), not to mention the other kit used 10.9 hardware.

Metric bolts use a different counter sink Angle than SAE.

    What angle would that be?

I believe I found some to be 82 degrees - I have a 90 degree bit for cleaning stuff up otherwise I'd run more 82 degree bits.

At $45 to $75 per bit though, it doesn't make sense for me to own multiple

Normally metric are 90 degrees and SAE are 82 degrees.

What a busy thread. okay so we need to provide our own bolts and do we have a timeline as to batch 2 and 3? I am in batch 3 and only curious to a ball park timeline
