I've been getting ready for a storm, not expecting much of anything, but it's a good excuse to check on things.

I was a little worried, my box had some shipping damage, so I laid everything out to be sure nothing got bent :p. It all looks good. I'll call a local bolt supplier at lunch Thurs, and try to get some primer on in the evening. 20240807_220344.jpg:benchpress:
Pretty sure these would need :nuclear:to get damaged!

Holding the physical pieces now you understand that these are absolutely beefy AF

Again, thicker than the discontinued set!

The names in the corner were just my own little footnotes; when you've got 24 internal brackets, 24 L brackets, 24 support brackets, and a plethora of exterior brackets it's easy to lose track of what you packaged up when doing everything on a hot afternoon

    I've used parts without.

However, I'd recommend using them though like @musicisevil suggested.

If you’re using Hex head, yes. Washers serve to spread the tension across a larger surface area. They also help prevent galling, etc. (friction)

Personally, I went with flange head (essentially a washered bolt), but additionally chose a serrated flange head. This adds serration to help lock the bolt, much like a lockwasher does. It lessens the chance it will loosen from vibration. I don’t think there really are any bad choices… personal preference and availability.

Use the info @Kwikvette posted and you’ll be fine.

Fastenal has a pack of 25 for less than 20 bucks. 27 bucks with tax and a bag of 50 flat washers. 1723132389411497406406244428479.jpg

I hate that the Fastenal near my in-laws moved locations; now it's half an hour away :bananadead:

For that reason, I've stuck with McMaster Carr.

There’s a bunch of suppliers for anyone needing access without local supply. I’ve found a fair supply via my local ACE Hardware. Look for a local Bolt & Nut supply. If not, McMaster Carr, Fastenal, BelMetric, and even Amazōń can provide good choices. Just make sure all the specs you are looking for are present in the selection you make before pressing enter. I know many searches often include non-matching items.

I tried stuffing all the spaces with packaging paper but it seems I'll have to sacrifice a box for every package to line the wall with some more cardboard.

No biggie, just didn't realize USPS would be that abusive with their packages
