Agreed, not a good idea to make changes based on a single data point.

But, it's something that'll be in the back of my mind and just based off that single data point, my suggestion could offer convenience to all.

Isn’t that L bracket bent slightly in 2 different places? If so. Couldn’t that be why it’s off a little? Because you used a flat template to begin with and bent it from there? Just spitballing.

The L bracket mocked up on the truck receives one bend. At least that's all that was needed when placing it on the 3rd Gen I test fit.

Pictures are posted in the previous page or two as well as the initial post.

I am waiting to see more installed, but if it's going to raise many concerns, I can put a stop to making these (refunding the one person in the 2nd batch that paid), and not making any until I see a truck in person.

I’m good. I was just trying to offer a suggestion as to why it might be off a little. Who knows, when it’s all bolted together it may line up just fine. :notsure:

I need to flip parts and apply one more coat before I can attempt an install. Weather isn’t working in my favor either which is crucial since I don’t have a car hole.
Hopefully Thurs or Friday paint will be dry and weather will be clear

I'm just trying to ensure it isn't user error. It's why I asked about the large hole and smaller slot on the L bracket not mating to the truck - the template was dead on and the recent picture posted looks as if the L bracket needs to be clocked correctly (but wasn't).

However, if the same issue occurs in two or more sets then it isn't user error and it could be something with the parts themselves.

I want everything posted here so I can document issues (if any), and apply a fix to the design as a whole.

I need to be quoted or tagged though, so I don't miss posts related to an install.

If replacement parts need to be made, I'll happily make what's needed. But again, I need to be tagged and/or quoted.

    Bolts were correct, just mis-labeled.

    This and that
    @Kwikvette
Sorry don’t have a pic, but I was just reading back through the posts and mine did not line up with the wire holes exactly either. The wire that passes through there is bed lights. I think they started pre wiring those in ‘20 models.

also I pressure washed the shit out of it back up in there. It’s nasty

    Perfect.

When you can, if you can document exactly what is off, what is causing it to be off, and the suggested solution from your point of view.

With the purpose of the bed stiffeners being to maintain the "like new" positioning and prevent deflection, is it possible that any material fatigue or deformation has occurred for those examples where the holes don't line up perfectly?
