Real Marines drink all night, even extra the night before a boots and utes run up the goat ropes

Man we would do the runs up the goat ropes (San Mateo, literally vertical face with two ropes), then run down the mountain side to the beach and back around.

Those were our thrash runs when we wanted to fuck up the junior Marines.

 

There are things in place that doesn’t allow that anymore Hahahahha

 

So, no thrashing one of your new boots after seeing the compensator imprint on their boot?

No wrecking their rooms in the late evening making them do fireman carry drills up and down the catwalk for finding something they shouldn't have in their room?

No making them go on a second run during chow time cause they were falling out during the morning run?

No beating the shit out of them for losing their NVG's (and having another Marine turn them into you cause you're the other Marine's fireteam/squad leader)?

I could go on and on but man, all those reasons for not staying in are coming back to me now

 

Fortunately I was only in the fleet for about 6 months before my first combat deployment

But yeah, we got thrashed/hazed a shit ton before we became the senior Marines ourselves.

Which meant, you do the same that was done to you, naturally.

 

Been slammed at work. Hoping to knock out this weekend. Going to prime tomorrow and paint Friday.

not sure who I pissed off in MOS school but all I did was go from one sand box to another for my entire enlistment

 

God damn that sucks

Everyone I went to MOS school with stayed in CA; funny thing is about half of them went to my unit, the other half went to a unit that had gone to Okinawa and I forget where else making them avoid any combat deployments the entire time we were in
