It was as little as a 1/16" out of square, it still is as I haven't bothered to fix it but you can see just how easily it glides.

Figured I'd take this time to buy some components for creating a draining system, fix the squareness, replace bearings (if necessary), then get it back up and running to fulfill more orders.

How much for L brackets that have a little lip to keep something from sliding off? I’m trying to hang my American flag coin holder…

Excuse the slight mess. That coin holder has to go up above the Victorola. Studs are 32 inches away from each other (there’s a middle one but we’re not messing with that one). The coin hold itself is 36 inches in length and 1 7/8 wide. I would say the bracket would have to be at least a foot in height, an inch wide and the lip would have to be around 1 1/2 long with a small lip about 1/2 inch tall. What say you, Ser?!

Wouldn't be difficult at all; just need to get back to running order!

Just placed an order on McMaster Carr for some flanges and gaskets as I'm finally getting something done I should've done over a year ago and finally going to make a drain/refill setup.

Looks nice, I'm glad you posted a picture, I was trying to figure out how you were going to mount a flag pole on your taco that needed a lip added to the 'L' brackets in the hidden stiffys.

@NoOne was more than kind enough to mail me his L brackets on his hidden stiffener set so I mocked up his parts in CAD in hopes to cut a set out as soon as my table is back up and running.

    Screenshot 2024-09-24 170702.png

    Screenshot 2024-09-24 170731.png

Not only did I enlarge the lower slot around the big opening, but I included the top one as well.

Another thing that was mentioned to me which could be the reason for some L brackets lining up perfectly and others not - if you clock the L bracket for the large hole to line up perfectly with your bedside, the center of the 3 mounting holes at the bottom will fall into the seam.

If you notice in the above L bracket, I took the suggestion to move the center hole over half an inch. This should aid others to orient their L bracket as best as they could without fear that they have to drill into the seam, something I believe others avoided when they forced their L bracket slightly offset.

For mine, just cut those new slots to the red mark dimensions (same as the slots on the inner bracket). I already have those plotted for install. I’ll be checking the bolt holes against the inner brackets this weekend and can send photos/dimensions for your review.

EDIT: Don’t recall if I mentioned that all three of the slots are used on passenger side on my truck. One has 110v socket wiring harness mount. One has bed lights wiring harness mount. The other is another harness mount. The driver side only used two. ‘22 TRD Offroad with the tech package.

Also had a chance to tighten up that difference in the frame; it's less than 1/32" out on the Y-axis.

On the X-axis, it's less than that as you can see both bearings coming into contact with my 1" machined shims on each corner.

I've got some vanstone flanges coming in tomorrow so I can incorporate a drain and refill system and finally utilize the reservoir underneath my table.

Cool thing is, a vendor on the FB group is sending me a machine torch mount that's meant for specific torches. What I mean is, the factory machine torch uses a clamp in the form of a "V" which is meant to work with a variety of different torches (varying from 1.2" to 1.8" diameter).

The mount he's sending me not only has attached lasers for X and Y (for zeroing on a specific point easily), but it is machined out of aluminum for specific-sized torches.

Being the only 'Group Expert' in the CNC group, he thought he'd like for me to try it out and share my opinion of it. He's sold plenty already from his online store but noticed I'm not running one myself, and had expressed my disinterest in lasers :anonymous:

    @NoOne

Good catch on that 3rd hole, I didn't notice it until I went back to the garage.

Everyone's different, but the way my mind operates, if something isn't working the way it's supposed to, it bothers me to no end.

Anyway, I just tightened up the gantry and reinstalled the couplers and lead screws and jogged everything multiple times.

    She's perfect.

UPS is late in delivering my flanges, and with tomorrow's funeral, I won't get back to it until Thursday.

Oh, tomorrow is off my books. I’m overbooked with work and it’s also a bday… I’m amazed you seem to find the time and energy you do. I’m slow, but deliberate.

    Self-discipline and self-motivation really

No but really that motivation just comes from the desire to have any and all of my equipment in tip top shape, ready to go to work.

I only just got into welding and metal working 3 years and 1 month ago; it's something I always wanted to do and I've enjoyed every minute of it since I started.

That and I still need to buy PVC pipe, some elbows, ball valves, and mock-up a means of draining the table into the water tank.

Then figure out what 110v pump to buy to transfer water from the tank and back out to the table.

Thinking I'll loop the drain and filler together with ball valves at each end - close the drain, open the refill and run the pump to refill the table through the drains.

Only concern is the tank itself. Wondering what kind of "sealant" I should use as I'll need to drill a hole or two into the tank to add a means of attaching PVC pipe.

    Maybe check valves…

It’s all about GPM, inlet/outlet and HP. Head is ability to lift. Look at small pond stuff, probably sufficient.

Consider if you want filtration. Most spas have simple cartridge filters. Check valves are handy in these dual scenarios.

Several things use “flange fittings” that have silicone or rubber gaskets. Plumbing is your friend (pool and pond too!). ‘Pool Lube’ is a water resistant lubricant for sealing gaskets and seals. Teflon tape on everything else that isn’t soldered. Tractor Supply has stuff for farm spraying equipment, which can also be an inspiration/source of ideas.

Why not use your air compressor to force stored water up into your table? I can fill a 65 gallon table in a few minutes without splashing water on the floor (much quicker if I want to shower the machine :crapstorm: .)

No check valve, because if the table is full, you need a ball valve to turn/open to drain said table. Then when you want to keep the water in the table after refilling (or during), you'd close it.

Unless you meant adding one in general, yeah I do plan on it.

I'm not afraid of how many gpm I'd be pushing, this thing will get turned on once every 3-4 months. More like, what Chinese brand one should I buy

I never thought about any pool filtration, I had only looked at those large plastic filters for ease of cleaning and low cost. Wonder if those are cheaper/better.

I'll check out pool lube, betting I'll find that stuff on Amazon.

Don't want to run extra air lines, and don't want to be bending over for the tank for anything. I know it'll only be 3-4 times a year like mentioned above, but my back is really bad.

When Covid came around, I was doing site work in a company F150. I bought an ATV spray rig and put it in the bed of the truck so I could wash my hands without worrying about how clean everything else was. Tank and pump already plumbed, ran it off a UPS battery - worked a treat. I can't remember how much water you are looking to store, I think you do already have a tank. It might be worth looking into for cost effectiveness. I got something like this - it was cheaper to buy the whole rig than it would have been to buy the parts.

Should've just bought one of those!

But that's basically what my tank is. I'll be drilling a hole at the bottom face for adding a means of refilling and will be using the pool lube recommendation for a sealant.

The drain I'll just run through the top to make things easy.

We'll see. It's easier to think up multiple ways of doing things without any parts in hand; stupid UPS delaying shit again.
