It's weird how many people said "im in" when the teaser started that aren't in.

I can't leave anything well enough alone
I can only speak for myself, but it is price holding me back. I've done the soul searching and simply not willing to spend 2K on these right now, so the amount of discount does matter. I know these are quality parts, and that doesn't come cheap. But for me, 10% just wouldn't be enough for my comfort level. If I knew it was 1500 or something it would probably tip the scales. And who knows, the group buy might get that price, but without knowing, and how much talk there is about being 'sure', I'm just not willing to put my name on the list yet. if they were 2k and had the complete front end with the core support, it would be a no brainer. I already have a new core support to go on, the fenders at the same time would be excellent. But the concept of "something less than 2000" just doesn't sit well with me. Oh well. I really do like the other JD fab parts I have, and hope to do the steering kit someday as well.

If you’re going to let 500$ dictate what you will and will not put on your truck, this world isn’t for you. And you probably didn’t need them to begin with. Grand scheme of things, these are cheap compared to the time and frustration to tub your factory inners.

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
If spending less than 2k to fix a 5k+ problem isn't economically sensible, then trying to reason and convince anyone isn't going to work.

Go to a body shop and get a quote for replacing the inner fenders which doesn't prevent the problem from happening again.

Take the hours of labor quoted, but adjust the rate for how much your time is worth. I typically bill out at 125-200/hr for consulting work depending on the project.

Once you get some numbers together, you'll see how inexpensive this really is compared to the alternatives.

Yeah, I priced out the OEM aprons and the labor to install from a shop. This is a better option for sure: less headache

You guys know if there's a template? In the meantime, I am prepping for them.

good points. I probably don't need them, and have no need to do any tubbing at this point. Only issues are cracking of the core support.

I think my main point of the post, which I didn't convey well, was that I think if the price was known, more people may be willing to sign up. I agree there are those of you who really need these, any you would buy them at almost any price. I'd guess those are already signed up. But for people on the fence, questioning if they need it or not, price is a factor. I didn't mean to cheapen the product. But the decision isn't about do I use JD inners or OEM inners and which one is better/cost effective, it is whether I want JD inners or do nothing. And if I am questioning that type of decision, the advice is probably right, that I don't need them to begin with.

Without caging the truck and solid mounting everything I’m not sure the cracking will ever stop. Personally, I had to tub. I spent nearly 30 hours one weekend doing so. Only to be left with a floppy front end because you lose a ton of structure once you start cutting out all of the stamped panel. These are 100% worth the money for anybody running 35’s or 37’s. With 33’s the inners are a non issue.

for the record, I am running the 35x10.5 kenda R/T tires with 8.5" wheels -10mm offset, and with the BP-51 shocks and the travel they have, I don't rub the inner fenders at full compression. I tested without the spring and jacked the tire enough that the bumpstop lifted the truck up. This obviously doesn't account for flex and deflection i.e. the extra clearance needed for real world, but generally speaking, I don't have the same need as you.

@906taco : I did want to explicitly thank you though for honest responses without being surly.

Many companies run GB like this. The last DK stick LCA GB was ran like this. Sorry that isn't the way you like to see it. It hasn't hurt the # of people in the other GB.

At full stuff on 35’s I was hitting the front of my inners pretty good. Basically right under the battery location on both sides. Idk how you’re getting away with it, but myself and many others have not been able to.

narrower tire perhaps, with just the right backspace, coupled with a 3/8" spacer under the wheelers super bumpstop? I dunno other than that. I have the LCA pivot kit, set 1/2" forward from stock, and the eccentric adjusters set pretty much out all the way, camber corrected by the SPC UCA. ~4.5 degrees caster.

I also don't offroad like you all. my truck is a heavy camping truck for family adventures, sometimes out for 5 days at a time moving every day. I do chase cool places, some challenging trails, but not looking to get stuck or conquer crazy trails simply for the offroad challenge. Truck is simply too heavy.

Is there a close date for the GB? originally end of october, but given lower commit rate, is anyone thinking of extending?

End of Oct is where it's set unless I hear anything different from Harry then that's where it's at. This won't be a 4 month long GB until we reach the 40. Others may do that.
