Excessive mods being barely enough to satisfy. Yep, my signature. My phone is being retarded with alerts, fell behind. Hell yes, I'm in. Dammit though. Just cut a new green belt down to 5. I'm putting my roush in on Saturday!:annoyed: looks like I'll be doing that twice. I'd also pay for a custom t-stat housing. Its proximity to the belt spooks me.

I disagree with (too custom). If we look around for other t-stats off other makes and models we could brainstorm a solution. I'm in favor of a faster revving motor.

Highly in favor of the effort for a 6 rib.
-No belt cutting. (Less chance of cutting myself with a knife)
    -stregnth and durability
    -massive reductions in belt slip
-potential for more billet pulley options
    If it's a matter of a new t-stat I think it's a hurdle, but a small achievable one.

Someone better be willing to work on that effort relatively quickly then because we may get traction on getting something custom made for us or at least headway on a physical pulley piece soon.

I'm not opposed to the idea, I just don't know if I'm willing to put in that sort of work on a T-stat, however, running a 6 rib would be amazing. More belt options period.

Its essentially a plate and tube. If we could oval it for clearance we could win. I need a damn 3d printer!

Yeah I know right. All we would literally need is just another 1/2 of clearance. If that.

True. I just looked at mine. Maybe alter the tube angle slightly for a win. I'm tempted to order a stock one on ebay to cut apart and use as a mock up.

Hang on. Why are we trying to reinvent the wheel? There are TONS of Toyota 3 bolt design T-stat housings.. and I may have just found one that would give us the additional space we need.

That's great news. I have no idea what's exactly a potential fit. Just providing creative problem solving:cheers:

I was looking at the 4.7 v8 tstat housing, may be possible. I am sure there is plenty of options. If not, l we can figure something out I am sure. With all the resources around here, we are going to start our own URD with innovative products for this crowd.

Potentially speaking here we can get a shorty t-stat housing off a Tundra or Sequoia. Gates PN 34705 or MotoRad 637-180. 180* thermostat affixed. Assuming they use the same bolt pattern we can then mount it either different or get more clearance. The 4Runner and FJ may also use a different angled T stat housing as well. I can maybe get my hands on a Tundra T-stat housing today just for inspection purposes.

I have both a tacoma and FJ housing. I think they are the same, but I'll check tonight.

So then potentially speaking the Tundra/Sequoia/ Land Cruiser one may be our best bet. I can get my hands on one like now and check it out @White lightning boosted @Murphinator

The options have been blown wide open with the newly induction of HPTuners and if someone had a 3D printer and access to super tough and durable material we could get started designing some of those parts too.

Of course I'm just spitballing here, but that would be really cool if we did.

Make it a volunteer based support system to minimize taxation regulation. Maybe a small membership fee? Someone has to know a guy to lay the legal stepping stones.
