What pulley arrived damaged? That's typically a shipper issue and you have to take it up with them, but ultimately it comes from NST so they would have to send you a new one and if they were one offs that sort of complicates things. Regardless that's not cool. If they are washing their hands from us then we may have an issue on our hands with them again.

But the shipper has to file the claim, not the receiver.

I've been really lucky and have never had to deal with damaged goods during shipment.

I may have to get a hold of them for you.

There was no damage to the exterior of the packaging, so the shipper won’t take blame. NST included minimal packaging and the crank and water pump pulleys nested and gouged each other pretty far into the aluminum.

NST tried the same excuse when I sent the pictures. They ignored me for a few weeks and finally responded with unclear instructions on an exchange.

I asked for clarification a few times and they went silent. It’s pretty standard behavior from what I read on other auto enthusiast sites and reviews.

Has everyone at least received the correct alternator pulleys?

I did eventually. Wrong one at first then contacted them via email and was instructed to send back the pulley with a copy of the email. Then I had to wait about a month until they shipped it (gold anodized so might have had to wait for them to do a batch) and then it took another month to arrive after being stuck in a Canada post office. Not their fault about the Canada mail thing though.

Has anyone had issues with bolt holes being misaligned between the two Crank pulleys? I just took my stuff to mechanic since I don't have time and he says they don't line up.... ARGHhhh

Throw up a picture of you can. I want to see what your mechanic is talking about.

Also, I still have your belt. I can either bring it to you next time I or you are in the area, or I can send it to you buddy. :)

Send me the instructions they sent you so I can attempt to decipher what the heck is going on.

Just drop off belt next time you're in the area. Or mail it if not too much trouble but no hurry.

What exactly appears to be the issue? It looks fine to me but if it's not you may want to take a straight on shot of it so I can better assess the holes. Worse comes to worse you can just open up the hole a little bit if need be with a Dremel or similar then put a dab of grease on it and on the metal sleeve to prevent corrosion and scoring of the sleeve on the crank seal.

The 2 holes that go through the pulley don't line up. isn't that what holds them together in addition to the crank bolt?

No. It's just the main hole and the keyway that lines up once they are put together. The holes on the side are irrelevant.

@zerotimeouts if your mechanic is not capable of understanding the way that those crank pulleys are assembled (especially since they have to remove the old ones in the process, which specifically highlights the assembly design of the setup) they just did you a favor by being too short-sighted in outing their competency as technicians and you need to find yourself a new mechanic.

Would anyone have a stock (or aftermarket) magnuson crank pulley they could sell me or know where I could buy one?

How important is the dowel? NST SC crank pulley matches the stock one. The NST crank pulley has holes that don’t match stock crank pulley.

How did you end up solving this issue? I’m sure I can rig up some tool to hold the SC crank pulley while I tightened. Trying to figure out how to solve this issue as mine looks just like that.

Those holes aren’t used to secure the pulley right? Just used to hold the pulley with the tool for crank bolt tightening right?

The SC crank pulley holes are smooth and supposed allow the screws to pass through to the crank pulley where they screw on while using pulley install tool. Mine don’t align as they should when both pulleys are aligned by the dowel key hole. So yes to your question. Trying to figure out how to attach the tool.
