Looks like a flash flood crossing attempt, or a East Fork Carson trail crossing fail… That river should’ve just been open for rafting!

Hey OP, you probably should also pull and check the inside of the transfer case actuator, they’ve been known to flood and the interior components corrode after a water crossing. First signs will be an inability to go into 4wd in the near future.

That's what I was going to suggest. If your like me, you take the truck out and get paranoid on the way home. All of a sudden theres 10 new sounds, but it turns out they're all normal and I'm only noticing them for the first time because I'm on high alert.

Do you have a dehumidifier that you can plug in and place in the truck? Make sure it drains outside the vehicle obviously.

It may be your running board tubes are full of water. Had this happen to me on another truck I had. Drove me nuts until I figured out where the sloshing was coming from.

    Two excellent suggestions right here.

Let us know what the mechanic finds.

I flooded my Tacos passenger side rocker panel and had to peel off the rubber seals to drain it.
    Driver side didn't flood.
This was on a 1st gen.
Do 3rd gens have holes in bottom of rockers with square rubber seals ?

I will do, I'm going to have a try at all of your easier suggestions (running boards, door frame etc), I doubt its the fuel tank as its full and has never made that sound before.

Approximately how many bags of rice does it take to dry out a truck?

I'm going to go with this. I had this happen. We live in New England and water froze in my step tubes. Come Spring I heard a sloshing sound that I and the dealer couldn't diagnose. One day I decided to drill a hole in the step tube cap(in the front). A ton of rusty water poured out. No more slosh!

    Good luck!

    Like, so many.
I actually was about to ask this.
Are you sure you just haven’t noticed it sloshing before? Because it definitely does.

I hope you, at the very least, pressure washed the undercarriage to prevent dried mud.

I did take it through a wash after, I knew trying to diagnose (either myself or a mechanic) any problems would be easier if its clean.

I'm fairly certain its not the gas tank, I've just finished a long road trip and didnt notice the sound at all, its only after I finished off roading.
