You just need bigger tires or more weight, then the 5.29s will pay for themselves haha

Wipe it all down and check it again. I had residue like that. Wiped it down, didn't see it again.

Sometimes they take the oil and wipe it on the diffs to clean em up and make them look black again. It doesn't look like it's leaking at all imo.

Front diff is the same way as the rear diff for the break-in procedure.

You can break them in at the same time, different, time, etc. They are independent diffs. I broke my front diff in after my rear diff, but that was because I knocked out 500 miles on asphalt quickly.

Yeah, understood about the wipe and check again process. The possible leak on the rear diff was not there the day before when I checked and the passenger side CV possible leak had fluid after a few wipe and check cycles, which I was why I was concerned. I know I'm being paranoid, but want to make sure I don't let any problems go unnoticed.

Yup he’s been really helpful, taking it in on Friday for them to check up on it and flush the rear fluid. Yelp review will be coming once all goes well

Another one (mine). Completed today in about 90 min.

So far so good. The drive with the breakin rules was not fun back to San Diego. Now it shifts like ....my new Accord, or as one would expect.

    More later.

So initially I was not very impressed with the regear (5.29s) One week ago. I read everyone raving about how it was a world of difference right out of the shop.

But to be honest I felt no major difference, although I did think that was probably because I was being so careful and babying it during intital break in.

Fast forward to today, I took the truck to hit some nice challenging trails (to break in the front and test out my lockers). And that’s where I feel the regearing really shines and punches you in balls for not doing it sooner.
Major difference when tackling obstacles and steep inclines, no loss of power. Just overall felt very powerful and not handicapped. Lockers are bad ass as well. No need to rely on momentum or speed, just approach obstacle nice and smooth and let the truck do it’s magic!
