Haha. I actually started the swap today:p

After almost 7 years of runnning a topper full time, its looks like a completely different truck without the top.
    IMG_3444.jpg
Unfortunately, not washing between the cab and shell (topper front window is the non fold down variety) for so long left the back glass trim pretty dirty and grimy. It took more time and elbow grease to clean that up. Hope to finish getting the Softopper on today or tomorrow. Family time is calling at the moment.

How bout a snorkel update :anonymous:

    Not Enough.
Thank you sir. Took that one late October evening down on Hatteras Island doing a little evening drum fishing. Got skunked, but I was on the beach, so it wasn't a bad night. :D

When installing the Softopper, did anyone move the pivot pin placement from the factory center hole?

My top fits, but it's tight as heck. I'd rather not overstretch the seams prematurely.

Received the Softopper for my 3rd gen and installed it on Thurs. Had to move the pivot pins to the lowest hole because I could only get a few snaps fastened on each side. It was fine after lowering them. My 2nd gen Softopper fit fine without moving the pivot pins.

Gotcha. Mine came in the middle slot. I can get all the snaps fastened, but requires a good bit tension on the safety straps abc body English. Just didn't know if this was normal or if I should try dropping the pin to the lowest slot.

Wouldn't hurt to try lowering the pin to see the difference. Quick & easy to do. I removed the pin bracket and switched the hole instead of taking the rails off the truck. Took maybe 5 minutes. Worth it for your peace of mind.

I don't know if I was ahead of the game, or if I just wasted some time & sealer... When my topper arrived I laid it out on the living room floor, inside up, and then seam-sealed all of the stitching. I thought it would be a good idea to let gravity work for me and pull the sealer into the needle holes and thread windings. I may have not accomplished a thing though, if in reality - that once the topper is stretched taut those "needle holes" get gapped open wider and my sealer (already cured) won't fill-in the difference. I guess I'll have to use the hose and find out.
Mine is 3rd Gen and I left the pivot pin in the middle setting. It is tight, but I could snap it all without too much stress.
Luvin' the fit, function, & look!
