Just got one sealed up and cooled down from the oven. I'm very happy. Can't wait to get them working tomorrow morning!

Bought some d2s apollo housings from fs thread. Scored the elite kit from retrofitsource. They also hooked me up with 2 sets of bulb retention hardware. Also scored a set of clear reflectors for the retros. This is what the retro housings looked like but I had some other BHLMs that had loose reflector and a bezel I wanted from them......

Time for a little baking......One black set of 05-11 BHLMs had the loose reflector and had the donor bezels for my soon to be modded retros. The other set were my d2s/apollo morimoto retros. I wanted the bezel from the halogen BHLMs for the fresher black bezel and really yellow blinker lens. The other thing going into the retros were the clear reflectors. The donor BHLM halogen set got the light yellow blinker, black trim bezels with amber reflectors. So here's where lights met oven one at at a time until all 4 were open. Bezels swapped, clears on retros, cleaned lenses, resealed after reheating each one again. Ended up just like I wanted....after switching to clear blinker bulbs instead of amber.

Big thanks to helpful folks at retrofitsource............the lighing is just so much better than any other hids and the projector makes it behave like it should. I now have enough lighting from the headlights that I won't need the hid fogs to help out all the time. Didn't take lighting pics but is nice sharp cutoff adjusted where it is just below rr windows & side mirrors on most vehicles. The difference in the light itself is amazing. So much whiter and brighter and useful than the philips halogens.

What's the best way to get my high beam indicator light back?

Are they pretty good quality? I saw somewhere that a guy had a set that burned up but looked to be much lower quality

No not of TRS parts but of the resistors. They seem very generic on eBay

Yeah that was mine. The yellow ones burned up. The blue ones are working fine so far but they seem cheaply made. If they act up I will make my own with a heat sink resistor and a heavy duty H3 connector or whatever it is.

Edit: What I really wish is that there was a way to disable that circuit checking "feature" in the Body ECU but I don't have a wiring diagram for it.

:notsure: On the long term but they are doing what they supposed to. If it fails, there is a second one to put in there.

Maybe that's why they sell them in pairs.

That's what I was thinking. I like them cause there really low profile too. I don't like the whole shiney kinda of look you get with the double row led bars.

It says it comes with Amber covers, but I wonder how much they cover the bar. Like the whole thing? Or just the ends?

I see what you're talking about. It just states that it comes with amber covers, not sure how many. That's something @TRSAndrew would have to answer
