    So I've been reading some things about the ballasts not firing up and flickering in the past few pages... What exactly is going on?

    My driver side sometimes wont fire up on first turn on, but will come on if I cycle the power again. Usually this happens when it's around freezing outside.
    Also, I've had the lights flicker as well since day 1.

    Anything I should be concerned about?

    Yep, ballast could also be responsible for flickering, if you've got good grounds. The DSP models are supposed to correct that issue, and they do on mine.

    After a while the flickering usually goes away. I've always assumed that was what the bulb did as it warmed up to full operating temp.

    Mine never want away. It resembled the movement of a filament in a halogen light bulb.

    The couple seconds of flickering followed by color change, after start up, is normal.

    Mine usually flickers for about 5 minutes before going away, or at least appearing to go away.

    Correct. Thought I was getting mine today but some how got my replacement bulb first when I called about the ballasts 3-4 before calling about my bulbs

    hahahaha they dont work so i cant use them. lol

    lucky for me i have had a H1 kit in my tacoma for 2 years now with great working ballasts. I both a FXR kit for the truck and a H1 kit for my FRS and all the balllasts are bad so for goin on 6 weeks now, i have been switching the ballasts back and forth between vehicles.
