I know and ive heard that the fail rate on LEDs/Halos are really slim but there is still that chance, which is why I opted not add them when I did my retro.

its not like an HID bulb that you can easily replace when they go bad. the only option to fix a bad LED/halo is to bake/open the headlight housing again, then reseal which to me is just way too much work. just my 2cents!

Edit: I guess the other option would be to just unplug the wires of the halos if they go bad so that they don't light up at all

So they only issue people are really having is with the halos?
Also want to know when the next group buy is and also some options and maybe some pics of the H1&D2s...I only want to get the kits that will be
easier and not have to cut anything in the housing.
What's the real difference between the two?
Thanks guys all the info helps

Well either h1/d2s are the easiest but will have to modify one piece. The new d2s 3.0 ( when they release for sale) are said to be better than the H1 6.0

TacoDane, did you use picture wire to add your halos to the front? If so was it an issue removing halo and replacing? I went to adjust my headlight and the damn rubber boot on the back of headlight pulled my wire off my halo. Now I have to open it up, remove, and re-attach. Just wondering about access to the retainer wires now that the projector shrouds are glued to the projectors. This time going to make sure those wires can't be pulled if pulling main boot off for anything.

I'm going to be honest. I didn't even bother installing a new halo. To do so you'll prolly need a new shroud. May damage the one in removal. How did you route your wires tho? I drilled holes for mine. So mine would be a little harder to remount and install. So I didn't bother so I just have a while ring around my shroud

I'm having problems too, i purchased a full retrofit FX-R set up with the morimoto 35w ballast.

1st problem: one of the projector had some sort of dust inside the lens. still works fine and it's not a big deal but jidda sucks for something you buy new…

2nd problem: What piss me off the most is the driver side light was slowly flickering like a candle for the first minutes after the install then about a hour later it quoted on me. I've had this happen before on cheap ebay kits but it was the passenger ground that was not right…but in this case the ground is right at the battery. all the connections are fine and just quited like this…

I've put a lot of time doing the retrofit and having to take stuff appart again right after the install frustrates me…i paid good dollars for this setup and the previous 60$ of ebay surpassed it already…

i guess i'll have to call TRS tomorrow, and have to wait another week++ to get parts because i'm in canada and be out of driving my truck at night during that time…

i bought it on the black friday sale…i fought the ballast issue would have been fixed by then...

If your ordered the kit black friday , you didn't receive the new ballasts they are replacing with the old ones. Just give them a call and tell them your issue. Try to swap the bulbs and ballasts around if you havent done so to make sure if its your bulb or ballast that are bad.
Also they don't have replacement ballasts until the 15th or so...

    AHH man! really!

before the black friday the was talk and knowledge about those faulty ballast…i'm surprised and disappointed they still shipped them out….i hope they are gonna fedex the new one to me because waiting to the 15th +++ without driving the truck at night will sucks…i might go shop on ebay for a cheap replacement Hid kit that would probably last longer than the morimoto…i don't see the end of this ballast issue unfortunately…

    thanks for the info though:thumbsup:

They sent you the original not the new designed ballasts they talked about. They will send you a new one no worries there. I have issues with the new ballasts ready, so I don't know what's going on
