Oh, that was 6 years ago and still (two suspension shops visits, and new springs installed) have never figured it out... The new spring installed did lessen the frequency of it but still happens once and a while.

I have the same/similar sound. I should be getting some suspension work done soon. possibly new shocks, and changing the LBJs. I'll post up if that fixes it. In the meantime I'm watching to see if what fixes it for you.

Don't laugh.....try greasing the hood striker latch. No WD40....actual grease. You would be surprised how that noise can sound just like something in the front suspension.

Not saying this is everyone's issue. But it might help a couple of you

I was having a front-end clunk in my truck for months and practically replaced my entire front end before I found out I just had a blown shock. The best bet is to try and find a reputable shop that will help you find the problem.

Yeah if I am unable to diagnose the problem myself I might just take it into the shop. I don’t want to waste all of my time and money trying to figure it out part by part

Does anyone think it could be the top hat assembly bolt on top of my coils. If so does anyone know the torque to it I can’t find it anywhere? I have the yellow bilsteins all around.

Damn I hear a clunk on mine too .... I just installed 4 inch lift spindles and a 1.5 block in the rear. And I hear a clunk when going on bumps or something as simple as pulling out of my driving when both tires fall into the little dip houses have on their driveway it clanks ...

Maybe it’s your upper control arms hitting your coils?

So I got my Tie Rods (inner and outer) and entirely new LCAs on my truck, and after a day of driving, I haven't heard the clunking yet. I think the tie rods, LCAs, and the sway bar are the most likely culprits for this sound, so if I hear it again, I'll check my sway bar. But so far I think that work has solved the problem for me.

I replaced with Moog LCA's a while ago, which saved cost over OEM, and i'm going to put Whiteline bushings in my factory LCA's for when the Moog's wear out.
The Moog's fixed my steering wheel shake and vibe because my OEM bushings were toast. Worked out well for me.
You could just swap out the bushings and ball joint of your OEM LCA's instead of buying whole new arms. Lots of bushing & ball joint options out there. Just need access to a hydraulic press.
