When shifting from 4wd low back into 2wd the trans makes a clunk sound when I drive forward as it goes into 2wd gear. Is this a normal sound. I can feel it in the truck when it does this. Had trans serviced 100 miles ago. Anyone else have this happen? 2013 4.0 with 105k Auto trans.

Are you letting it coast while you shift. Or if it's a manual transmission, putting it in neutral.

Pretty normal, you can usually find a sweet spot in the rpm range when letting off the gas to turn the knob and it will shift in/out smoothly.

That’s normal. As the other guy mentioned, there’s a sweet spot for a smooth transition but you can engage/disengage it while stopped or coasting. So long the wheel is straight

    It’s normal.
It’s also normal that the sound is louder sometimes than others.
The Transmission Service should have nothing to do with the sound.
The sound is in the Transfer Case that is bolted to the Transmission.
Or possibly the A.D.D of the front axle. (Not likely since you hear the sound in the area of the Transmission)

I think you are totally fine.
