Hey guys, I just noticed a clunking noise when accelerating from a stop in first and then again when I shift into 2nd gear. The noise seems to come from just behind the cab. It only happens in 2WD, not in 4WD. (truck is a 2009 single cab 4x4 Taco) I was thinking is might be the driveshaft U joints? I would try to get a recording of the noise, but it is cold and wet and snowing right now.

    Any thoughts would be helpful.

    Could be universal joints .
You have no choice but to slide under the truck and start investigating .
Considering its a 2009 , pay close attention to the leaf springs
I am assuming you have a manual transmission ?

Turns out it was a broken Leaf spring. Taco is at the dealership getting fixed for free.
