I own a 2007 prerunner with 147000 mi. It comes and goes but I've been hearing a single clunk sound when accelerating from a complete stop and when coming to a complete stop. It's usually right at that last little lurch forward when stopping and the initial lurch back when accelerating. It's seems as though something is shifting and I can feel it in my floor. I may have narrowed it down to when it's wet driving conditions and after washing the truck but I'm not confident about this just yet. I've looked around the forum and have seen similar problems but nothing that sounds exactly like what I'm experiencing. Any input would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks, I will take a look at both of these. I haven't yet really looked at much of anything. I have a pretty crazy work schedule. It started I'd say about a month ago and I shrugged it off but has been very noticeable the past few days. Will report back asap.

Get a flashlight, crawl under your truck, and take a really good look at your leaf springs.
In particular, the spot on them to look at is immediately adjacent to the U-bolts that clamp them together with the axle tube.
What you are looking for, is broken leaves.
Mine did *exactly* what you describe when one of my leaves broke.

Yours is an 07, so unless you've already had it done, it should be covered by a recall.
If you've already had the recall done, then you're on your own.
There is also a possibility that you have had a service bulletin applied, which would "upgrade" the springs. This is not the same as the recall -- which still applies.

Oh yes and I've had the leaf springs upgraded about a year ago due to the recall notice I received.
