I thought I’d share my experience with my King suspension install.

I had a clunk in the right front after the install. I spent the extra time to re-torque everything but I couldn’t figure out where it was coming from. It drove nice and I felt safe driving it so I drove it and figured at some point I would track it down. I spent a lot of time searching threads and over the couple of weeks following the install I checked the radiator core support, front cab body mounts, removed the sway bar, double checked all the cross members, front differential mounts, front drive line, etc. All without any luck. I finally took it to a shop where they were able to trace it down to the front coil over not getting charged with nitrogen from the factory (I had heard of this happening in a random thread but I never thought it would be the case with mine. After a couple hundred in diagnosing and a nitro charge I’m good.

Super happy with the suspension and lift now. If you have a clunk I’d recommend checking the pressure in your reservoirs before digging too deep.

That said I was out $200 and tons of time so I called Wheelers Off-road to see if they would help. After a few weeks (they would never call me back, I always had to call them) they told me they would reimburse $20 for the nitrogen. King would not take any responsibility saying the shock likely sat in Wheeler’s warehouse too long and wheelers wouldn’t help at all. I’m torn over the experience with King because I think they make good stuff. As a consumer I was definitely caught in the middle. I would not recommend Wheeler’s Off-road at all. They basically called me an idiot and told me I should have found the problem much sooner and with less effort.

All in all I would do it again just wouldn’t go through wheeler’s. Check your nitrogen pressure if your having issues.

    Rant over.....
    Cheers!!!

When did the clunking sound occur? Was it driving at a slow rate of speed on flat surfaces or over speeds bumps? I'm curious because I experience a slight clunking noise driving slowly over speed bumps - King Suspension

It was on smaller chattery type stuff. I would just check the pressure you need a lossless gauge that goes to 200ish psi. They should have 150 psi when suspension is unweighted.

Thank you for your reply. I'll have the pressure checked.

Just ordered my King setup from Wheelers last week. So far, they've taken a lot of extra time to answer questions, which was cool. In other words, so far, so good.

Thanks for the tip about the Nitrogen, though! It's great info for anyone who might experience the same problem, including me.

    Where you want to be
Glad I found this post!! I've had this clunk noise since I had the Kings installed in Sept. of 2016. I was told it was "normal" and dealt with it.. I never felt any abnormal driving experience so I just went with what I was told. I'm going to have to figure out how to get the shocks check for nitro level..

I bought an OME setup from Wheelers and they were super quick to respond and overall great to deal with. After my coils started sagging a ton (only getting 1” out of 886 coils) I contacted them explaining that I thought they were faulty and it was like pulling teeth to get a response. I actually think the last email I sent to them was not responded and it was a follow up. Definitely great service before the order is placed but once you have your stuff you seem to be on your own.

Sucks that this happened to you, I hope companies like king, total chaos, etc.. will allow us to order direct in the future to mitigate this from happening to more people.
