I have a 2020 sr5 and about three weeks ago started to get a clunking noise from what sounds like the front end. Getting ready to take it in to have looked at anyone know what it might be. I got under and looked at it and to see if anything was loose I felt the stabilizer bar links and noticed that it will rotate but the nut is tight on both pass and drivers side

Dealing with this now with my 2018, and a couple threads already on this. Depending on your service people and mechanic, here’s what they told me in July and today. July - It’s a tick from the bushings. We even drove a similar model truck. Took it back Monday, We think its your bike rack, we couldn’t hear anything else. Went back test drove it with them so they could hear it. Even told them there are threads about this on the internet. Tried to go to the center caps. Kept it another day. Called today, “we checked, everything is tightened down. We drove another similar truck and heard the same thing, and Toyota doesn’t have any messages regarding this”. So I guess that justifies that it’s normal. Previous threads some have found the sway bar bolts, one even said the frame mount bushing. Good Luck.

I hear the same “click-ting-thunk” front end noise but can’t find the source of the noise. I’ve lifted the front end up and have zero play in the front tires and it’s all tight in front.

I have the same noise coming from my passenger. Brought it to the dealership they told me my “oversized” tires 265/70/17 was hitting the screw that’s holds my mudflaps. Yikes

Same noise front driver side. The noise happens when nose dives down after going over a large longer style speed bump or entering a steep drive at a decent speed. If I am going over several speed bumps the noise only seems to happen on the first one and not the following bumps.

Dealer could not replicate and inspected front end. They told me everything was good and Toyota considers this to be a normal noise. I shook my head and went about my day.

If you are seriously concerned, take it to a front end shop with a good reputation. Might cost a couple of bucks but their motivation is different.
Toyota doesn’t want to work on warranty related issues as it costs them money. A shop wants to make money and good ones want repeat customers.

Agree on the motivations between dealer and a good private shop. Right now it's a noise so not super concerned. I've documented the issue with Toyota and will continue to press them if the noise worsens. The truck is under warranty for two more years.

I’m anal about this stuff. It’s not normal. It’s likely a precursor to a bigger problem. Vehicles don’t heal themselves regardless of what the dealer says.

Front most body mounts? My truck was making the same sort of noise, I've tracked it down to the driver side body mount flexing/popping making a single clunk, then silence.

I was noticing a “clunk” noise every morning when pulling out of my driveway. Only happens once then I don’t hear it again. I could also feel it and thought it was coming from the front suspension. Found out on here it’s something to do with the ABS system. Something activates when the speed reaches 3 mph. Sure enough, it happens at exactly 3 mph every morning.

Dealer replaced front struts for this on my 16. After a long battle.

Took it back again. Now Shop Forman says its a design thing and has been a characteristic for a while with the brake calipers. On Tacomas and says does the same on his Sequoia.
