Hey guys. New here. I have 2015 Toyota Tacoma auto base and well, upon rapid acceleration the truck jumps? Not sure how to explain this but I changed out the center support bearing back in April and it started back and will only do it when accelerating rapidly or if I hook onto my boat and try to accelerate rapidly. Kinda confused here!

Check that carrier bearing and u-joints . Mine did it also because of the lift . I’m on my 2nd replacement carrier bearing since the lift back in 2017 . Most recently the rubber in the carrier was shredded and had a huge shudder at take off from a stop no matter how much acceleration.

I’ll check that, thanks. What brand would you recommend to buy for that part?

Base model? Not 4wd? This Dana Spicer Carrier bearing should be the OEM replacement that you're looking for. I cant confirm part numbers at the moment, so hopefully someone clarifies. If you need U-joints too, I would pick these Dana Spicer U-joints, but again, please confirm fitment before purchasing. Have you replaced your rear diff fluid? I do mine every 30 to 45k. Transmission fluid pan drain and fill?

It’s 4wd. I’ll check that out! I haven’t changed the rear diff fluid yet. I haven’t changed the trans fluid either. I have 117000 miles.

I would start with the easier stuff first. Check your Carrier bearing for excessive play. If you lay on your back under the truck and grip the drive shaft close to the CB, the shaft will have about 1/8 to 1/4in of play in it in all directions. If you have more play, then it might be time to replace. Clunking from your drive shaft may be the U-joints. If you're 4wd, your u-joints should be greaseable. It is recommended to grease them at every oil change with NGLI-2 grease. I use Lucas Red and Tacky. Then I would replace your oil in the rear diff. Since you're doing to rear, do the front diff as well. IIRC, it takes 7 quarts. There's a nice sticky at the top of this forum for changing your diff fluid if you're unsure of what to expect. ALWAYS always always remove the fill plug first before you pull the drain plug, just FYI. Then I would replace the fluid in your transmission. Do a full pan drop. Clean the magnets and replace the filter. Practice the procedure for getting your truck into the AT Temp Check mode a few times before you start the transmission fluid change. Your last option, and I hope that it isn't the case could be that your torque converter is going bad causing slippage. Do you have any fluid seepage around the front of your bell housing?
