I recently noticed a very concerning creeking to clunking noise when turning at low speeds. Mostly when pulling in and out of the driveway, etc. I’ve looked under the truck multiple times and everything seems to be intact and tightened. It definitely sounds like it’s coming from upfront and I can feel it in the floorboard when it happens. I know taking it to the dealer would probably be the best option, but I’m worried they’re going to try and blame it on my aftermarket suspension. If anyone has had something like this happen and figured it out, please help! Or atleast where I should start...

Edit: Torqued down LCA bolts and clunking is gone. most of them were tight but there was one that was extremely loose... Everyone check your alignment bolts!

Not in 4wd. Atleast it doesn’t feel like it’s completely in 4wd. No lights on the dash indicating that it’s in 4wd

Yes. I just got it aligned and told the shop about the sound. Also asked them to make sure everything they did was tight.

Ding.... my bet is on one of those. Most likely the cam bolt not torqued to 100 plus ftlbs

I’ll double check their work. It was happening before I took it in, seems to be a bit worse now.

Turdgen is 135 ft-lbs on the LCA bolts. And it’s not simple to get them to that torque, so guessing a lot of shops don’t get it right. I recently fixed a similar noise by torquing the LCA bolts. Driving up on ramps helps to get some space to crank.

I would like to think it’s normal... but it wasn’t doing this last week.

The shop I took it to was Firestone. Not a super small shop, but I guess that’s a possibility.

I am gonna say that's a definite. Lots of us around here have had issues with that chain.

I just installed UCA’s and am getting an alignment tomorrow. I’ll check mine as soon as I get home. The driver side front is tough, the nut side sits right by the CV axle and it’s hard to get the wrench in there. That was the one that was loose on mine. Make sure you torque the nut side, not just the bolt side.

Yep. I’ve taken it there 3 times this month and they still can’t get my wheel straight, let alone the camber correct on my wheels... can anyone recommend a good shop in SoCal?

I’ll try. So I have to torque both sides? What UCAs did you go with?

Bear alignment. There are only a handful of good shops. Look these guys up.
Both locations probably not close. Maybe try the Downey Firestone location.
