Hey guys I have a 2011 Tacoma V6 withonly 43,000 km on it and whenever I shift from park to reverse it seems to have a loud clunk and shifts hard into gear and i was wondering of anyone knows anything about it.

    Cheers, Clay

Found your post. I have the same issue sometimes.

I'm just wondering if it has anything to do with using my emergency break when i park?

Or is it a symptom of a greater transmission problem ???

its actually when you shift and not just the first time you hit the breaks after shifting?

example: I hop in my truck, start it up, shift from park to drive, take my foot off the break, accelerate a little bit, then hit the brake. brakes apparently have some slop in the shoes, hear a clunk. this is not a problem. thats just how it is.
