I live in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota and am wondering if anyone nearby has deleted/bypassed their accumulator? If you have, would anyone be kind enough to allow me to drive theirs for 5 minutes to see what I think?

    TIA

It’s definitely an improvement. I removed mine about 4 years ago and couldn’t be happier.

Can you tell me how? I don't find it that bad, but I have no comparison.

No it’s not that bad, I drove around for about 6 months with it on. Felt like I forgot how to drive manual at times.

For example I could not rev match properly with that thing on. Also, clutch used to shudder when starting up steep hills, now it’s smooth. Clutch is much more predictable and consistent now, just like a “normal” clutch is.

I might be wrong, but I think there is less wear on the clutch without the accumulator.

Edit: Forgot to mention. 3rd gen 4cyl Tacoma’s do not come with one. IMHO it’s an absolutely useless part that makes it harder to drive for experienced drivers. I believe it was only installed there to help new MT drivers. There are trucks with a lot more torque then Tacoma and none of them have the accumulator.
