My switch lights up but each time I try to start without pushing in the clutch the truck jumps because it knows it is in gear. Is there a sequence to follow or maybe something is wrong? Every time I have used this in the past on my other tacoma I never had a problem, please help!

It jumps because you're trying to start it in gear. :der:

    It's been a long night so I guess I'm mis-reading.

Do you start it a lot with the button and when the truck is in gear? I mean, why don't you just start it by pushing in the clutch like normal?

I like my CSC button but I only use it to start the truck when it's out of gear and I'm standing outside the truck (like to warm it up for a minute).

it's supposed to do that. if the transmission is in gear, it's in gear. all the clutch cancel switch does is fake the truck into thinking the clutch is engaged. useful in slippery or hilly off-road situations.

The clutch start cancel switch is for starting the truck in tight spots on trails (like on an incline) where you stall and need to restart w/ the clutch out and in gear so you dont roll backwards into something.

    Nothing wrong, no sequence

After I sent this I realized how stupid this was I fogot that the CSC just allows you to start it without the clutch engaged not starting it in gear. I typed this and then went back after the replies and thought shit I am a dumbass sorry about this, but thanks for the replies.

    thanks

haha don't worry we've all done it. just take it out of gear, then hit the button and start it. It doesn't engage the clutch, it just lets it start without you having to push the clutch in
