You will need to use white lithium grease on the clutch fork & pivot ball as regular maintenance. My dealer replaced my clutch fork & throwout bearing in Dec 2010. The squeak from underneath has been back in Feb 2011. I took it back, they lubed it, squeak returned a week later. Went back again, the SA told me the person who lubed it the last time used anti seize instead of white lithium grease & they did it right this time. So far, clutch feels smother & squeak gone, been 2 weeks so far.

i took mine in for 45,000 and they hit it with white lithium. i asked them about why they did it and they said it was now SOP every 5k because of the amount of complaints that they get.

Greasing is a VERY temporary solution.

Replacing the bearing works for longer, but not long.

Replacing the entire bellhousing and shaft works longer yet, but still not forever.

The only semi-permenant solution is this:

    http://www.urdusa.com/More-Products...t_info.html?osCsid=5sfj4aot3pecd1abfe0mfr92e0

It is a stainless sleeve to stop wear on the throwout bearing shaft. The shaft is made of aluminum so the steel bearing just wears it out. This stops that by covering it with stainless steel :)

That's for 6 speeds. Everyone on this page is talking about the 5 speed.

Why would they be talking about 5 speeds when the OP who is asking the question has a V6 with a 6 speed?

Because the OP was talking about a problem all manual (6speed and 5speed) Tacomas eventually have which is a creaking pedal assembly shaft.

This migrated to creaks/noises in other areas such as the V6 throw out bearing(mechanical defect) and the 5 spd clutch fork/pivot shaft(lubrication failure).

    Noisy clutch parts all around!

Took some pics of the boot and fork on the slave. Tacoma_Slave_6f68f85abd21a2304e63cf9bbfe9ce95ab6a9cf8.jpg

and inside with boot removed looks like a clip....all pretty rusty
    Clutch_fork_cbe8912f4d3c45112379560e8824eb96302314e0.jpg

Gave it a shot with white lithium spray and see how it goes.

Onto the pedal which is another story.....In the video you can see that rotating the shaft like so many threads describe only last until you press clutch pedal in. It snaps right back into position. This default position has a noise created every pedal press which I simulated by moving the shaft. I'm not sure what people are doing to get it to stay put.

Your video is exactly what my clutch pedal does every now and then. The dealer replaced the throw out bearing and clutch fork on mine because of "heavy rust". The creak stopped. Then a week later, the rod between the pedal and master cylinder fell out because the nut wasn't tightened. Now it pops. Seems like a no-win situation no matter what owners do.

ok i hate to beat a dead horse, but mine wont stop squeeking at the bellhousing. not where the slave arm pushes on the fork, but inside the boot. i spray pb lube in there and it's gone for a few days, then it comes back. any ideas on that? sorry if this has already been posted, i looked and looked and couldn't find anything....

Toyota replaced my clutch fork, the pivot stud, and the throw out bearing under the "certified" warranty within the first 2 months I had my truck. They said the parts were badly rusted. Since then, no squeak from the bellhousing. Try some spray lithium grease. It's heavier and will provide more of a barrier than the penetrating oils.

I gave every stupid thing a try in the cab. Turns out the problem was under the truck. 1 shot of grease under the rubber boot is enough to keep the squeak away for months.

I see I'm not the only person with this problem. My has been squeaking & creaking for a little over two weeks now. It's highly f*cking annoying.

Glad to hear they haven't fixed this since it was happening in my '95 (pre-tacoma era).

Yup, that pedal drives me nuts ! i keep a can of lithium white in the door just in case i loose it on the way home in rush hr traffic lol. I will try the nut, but hope it isn't loosening anything attached to the actual piston thing inside !! that would suck.
    Oh Toyota you suck sometimes.
By the way anyone know the gear ratios on the 2011 manual? it is harsh, 1st gear is short !! gas mileage has gotten much better now I'm up to 15000 klm

    Peace.
