Two hundred k and over last year problem of soft clutch pedal, engage at floor on release, have to double clutch to disengage. After 26 years changes the fluid. Sometimes it engages normally and now mostly engage right at the floor without play. Hard on hill as want to take off and stale. Reverse is more problematic. When clutch engages at floor with foot pressing to bottom and truck starts moving, it will not come out of gear unless I double clutch. Help.

How many miles are on the current clutch or is it the original with 200k on it? How is the fluid level? Any signs of leaks around the master cylinder?

Well, I don't have a mechanic insight answer to exactly what is going on, but 200k miles would lead me to believe it's new clutch time which would address all of the issues surrounding the symptoms described. If you plan to do the work yourself, I'm not much help to tell you exactly what to replace.
