    Good afternoon,
I’m in the middle of a stainless steel clutch line Install on my 00’ Tacoma. Took the old rubber line out and put the new stainless one in, and it leaks from both fittings! I took everything apart, cleaned all the threads and fittings once again, and reinstalled. Still leaks! I was hoping someone with more experience in brake/clutch lines could point me in the right direction. Noticed the new line has a touch larger flat spot within the fitting, and significantly less threads than the OE one. Line is from Marlin Crawler.

    Thank you!

When you put it together the line the nut is on, when you tighten it can you slide the line in and out. If so the nut is not bottoming out in the line compressing it to seal.

    OP,
The Marlin braided SS lines are made by CROWN, arguably the best in the business. CROWN makes braided SS lines for many of the big off-roading vendors such as Marlin. I installed a Marlin braided SS clutch line 2 years back & it has been working very well. Also replaced the original OEM front & rear brake hoses with Marlin braided SS lines at the same time. As I remember it, I had zero problems with the job. Easy-peasy! Call Marlin up to discuss your problem.

I did this test, I was unable to get the line to move from pulling it up and down, so I believe it is seated all the way down. Maybe seated, but not the correct seat on the new line?
This line being made by CROWN is exactly why I sprung for it! I am a big fan of quality products like that and am willing to pay more for such quality. I will shoot Marlin an email (as I assume they are closed for the holiday weekend) and update this thread with their response.
Thank you both for your replies!

Also just as a +1, Does anyone think the difference in the flares might actually cause my issue? The new one appears wider (within the actual fitting) than the old one. I am not super familiar with brake/clutch lines and specifics of flares, so this is why I ask. If anyone thinks this might be the cause please let me know.
