I get that, not used to having to ring something’s neck to get it to do what I want.

4th gear is your last real gear. 5-6 are overdrive. 3400 is when your truck makes power. If you're not there, can't complain about not making power. 3rd gear all the way out on a short ramp or merging. 4th when you're actually on the highway and still accelerating. Use the OD gears for what they are, overdrive.

The pedal thing still sounds like it was cold. You'll have to tell us a bit more before we will know

Can confirm this is the case. Source: I live in Michigan, and my 2019's clutch tends to stick a bit in extreme cold temps. Once everything is up to temp, clutch behaves as it should.

I worked with a girl back in the 80s that bought a new Yugo, what a joke that thing was!

I still say change your mentality with this truck. Think of it as a 4 speed truck with 2 gas saving gears. One for the super flat highways, and the other for when you have to go up an incline on the highway.... For all intents and purposes...

A big part of my work was doing large scale fuel systems for LNG CNG and LP. Lots of our LP tanks got buried. Had an engineer go toe to toe with me one day about why the grade for the access road had to be changed and couldn't go there. Pulled the engineer card.

I waited until the end of the meeting to let everyone know there was a 30 acre pond there.

Like all professions, there's a wide spectrum of abilities and potential haha.

Go sell it. Apparently you like making snap decisions if you bought a $30k+ truck without knowing it was a 1980s truck from Soviet Russia.

Nah. I think once OP works with the truck instead of just driving it how he thinks it should be driven, he'll enjoy the truck

These trucks like to be shifted slow, I shift at 2600-3200 most every shift. No complaints after doing the accumulator delete. Cold weather the pedal is still some what sluggish.

Better question is who test drove it, didn’t like it and still bought it...oh you did.

I agree on the power surge, I test drove 1 and it seemed to dog out then about 3500 rpm felt like I floored it .

But for his topic of merging with highway that's not even in the ballpark

Once you’re tuned all will be better. OVtune is the best mod available for these trucks period.
