So, i'm getting ready to replace the clutch in my 01. i've done the research on how to do it... doesn't seem that difficult.

i have some issues though with my pedal. it's squeaking terribly - but i found the solution to that problem in a bushing replacement.

the problem i'm having is that the pedal doesn't always come back to the top after i've pushed it in. is the bushing going to fix this problem as well?

the spring seems stiff enough.. i thought when it first started this, that it was the clutch itself. pulling it back with my foot is easy, doesn't seem like it's binding, just that there isn't enough force to return the pedal to the full unengaged position.

i'm worried that it might be my master or slave cylinder... but it shifts just fine.

    is this a common problem?
