It stopped squeaking and then just gave up the ghost altogether. It is so loose now it has nothing to squeak on. It feels like the pivot pin literally fell out or something it is THAT sloppy. I can fortunately still limp it along but it’s not great. It wiggles side to side an inch or more.

I know they’ll replace it. Judging from my squeak turning into this, I’d get it fixed or keep a close eye on things at least.

I’ve given up on the howl. I have an extended warranty, I’ll just wait for it to drop out the back and get it towed then

Dropping the accumulator seems common on all the Lexus forums so I don’t see why it wouldn’t work! Similar designs and executions.

Warranty, who knows. All bets are off! It looks like it will be easy to swap back and forth minus the bleeding...

When it's below freezing, I have to pump the clutch a few times to wake it up. It also makes the same noises OP describes. More "characteristics of the vehicle," is what they told me at the dealership...

I got mine replaced a few days ago. I have about 6,000 miles and it was creaking pretty bad. I made an appt at my dealer, left it overnight and it was fixed the following day.
The pedal, bushing, clutch pedal holder, torsion spring and master cylinder assembly were all replaced.
I had a small issue that was correct the following day where I had to press the clutch extra hard in order to start the engine. That was a 20 min fix this morning at the dealer.

there is no TSB for this as of now. It was the first my advisor had heard of this issue, but then again again manuals are rare in the wild, but the majority on the forums, right? We only exist on the Internet.

Just dropped my pro off for the clutch master cylinder replacement. Started at 4K and now I’m at 20k. Tried to get it fixed sooner, but I just couldn’t make time for it.

Not that I am aware of. My issue started back in July 2017. I tried to get it fixed before, but my SA would not give me a rental. Lately I haven’t notice anything, but when my kids are sleeping in my truck and the radio off is when it is at its loudest.

Actually, I do .. at home in my service folder. I got it done at Charles Maund on 183.

My clutch pedal was quacking like a damn duck so at the 25k service I asked them to check it out and they came back with the TSB and replaced the whole pedal assembly + master cylinder. They also did the ECU update, so I was relatively happy with that visit.

You've gotta be shitting me. That's exactly who told me mine was a "Normal Characteristic of the Vehicle," or maybe "Could Not Duplicate." Mine's squeaked/quacked since day one. 52K miles now. Every Toyota truck I've ever owned has had clutch noises and I just hit it with lithium from time to time. Let us know if the fix actually works.

Well, it doesn't quack like a duck, more of a "normal pedal movement" sound. I think I could remedy the new noise with lubrication. Seriously the first time my kids heard the duck sound, they were like "wtf where's the duck?" So I'm sure the TSB has different parts than the original, somehow.

I really don't understand all the notchy, squeaky, TSB stuff here. Mine was squeaky and notchy too so I grabbed some brake grease and lubed the pivot points and spring. It took me less than a minute and it's been smooth and quiet for the 3 years since I did it.

I absolutely think that Toyota should have lubed it in the factory but there's no way I'd waste hours of my time and let someone replace all of those components when the fix is so damn easy

I just got off the phone with my SA. There is a TSB and now they need to order more parts . Hopefully this will resolve the issue.

Picked my truck up from the dealer and now the clutch pedal has the worst fell. The clutch catch point is approximately 1” from the floor and the rest is very “spring-y”. Can this be fixed??

Isn’t engagement close to the floor a good thing? My civic would engage almost immediately from the floor. Some hoop ties I’ve driven won’t engage till near the top. I thought floor engagement was a good thing and meant things weren’t work out too much

This is a new truck? You need to put some miles on it. My clutch had a bad feel when new but it got much better with miles.

When I had my TSB work done, the first time I picked it up the pedal had very little resistance and the pedal feel was terrible. I took it back and asked the service adviser if there was any adjustment, he said no, but I left it for them to finish a couple other things. Got the truck back later and they had done something to fix / adjust the pedal feel. Possibly bled the system.

Another consideration with the TSB is that the clutch pedal start switch sometimes doesn't engage, and I'll have to press the pedal further into the floor. I didn't have that problem prior to the TSB, and I think it's also adjustable, but I haven't bothered to take it back.
