A few years late, but here is the Toyota service bulletin for the gen2 slow clutch peddle return issue.

That’s just how it works. You can use super high quality brake fluid to minimize some.

also, deleting that stupid clutch damper might help. Definitely makes the pedal feel better

I got used to it as it was. Not sure of the purpose of the accumulator other than to irritate us traditionalists. In 1984 my clutch had a cable. I liked it just fine :)

You all try to be all manly with your manual transmissions. Real men wouldn't need a slave cylinder or a hydraulic clutch. Manual linkage and a strong leg is what you need. Someone needs to come up with a hydraulic delete kit so you all can really know what a manual is all about.

Thanks Karen. I didn’t design or build my 2022 so had no choice. It’s not about being manly. Some of us just prefer the manual over the forever hunting automatic and we’re not thrilled with the way the accumulator changes the feel.
By the way, when I did have a cable clutch in 1984, it was far easier to press and control than any hydraulic mess I’ve used today.

Manual steering, manual 4 wheel drum brakes, and clutch linkage. But power windows. I learned how to drive in this car
