    Exactly!
Mine were the same way squeak squeak squeak!
I think the dealer tried to sell me the same clutch pedal assembly.
My response was screw that too
Yeah I have a 95 VW Cabrio and a 97 Del Sol 5 speed no squeak in over 20 years go figure.

I appreciate all of your comments. If nothing else, it'll be something to show Toyota...to prove that there are known issues...

Mine does it too, well only on real warm days and never when I bring it in for service of course.

haha, I know the feeling well. I've had it where it was creaking like hell all the way to the dealership. I pull up into the service line, turn off my truck and when they get to me I turn it back on to show them the creaking clutch......nothing. Silent. Drive away and a few miles out it starts up again, lol.

If it is only squeaking a little I wouldn't worry about it. If it gets louder...I spray the spring that attaches to the clutch arm; that takes care of most of the squeak on mine.

someone be a hero and use a small piece of brass shim stock between the return spring and area on pedal it rides against. 99% sure this is where my remaining squeak is from. field service tech quieted half the squeak this summer by greasing the plastic pivot bushing but part of squeak still remains. only way i can get the brass shim stock is by the 100 pack so i want to confirm suspicions before ordering

It certainly depends on the weather conditions...seems like when the humidity is low, it gets more noticeable...weird.

I think there are 2 squeaks. The higher pitched one i had was coming from the plastic pivot bushing. The pedal was disassembled and lubricated and it sounded much better. That was temperature related. The more annoying one is definitely a spring moving in the area it rides closer to the top of the pedal travel. Sounds almost like someone drunkenly picking a horribly out of tune guitar. I think the only way to cure that one would be a softer piece of metal between the steel spring and steel pedal hole.

Mine squeaks. Its done it since about 3k. I always complained to the dealer at services but they did nothing always saying "unable to reproduce" I finally had to take it in and say "LOOK AT THIS SHIT" and proceeded to squeak the living fuck out of my clutch in front of the guy. They said they would look into it. Long story short they lubed it up completely solving the problem. Said something about a TSB for it and then told me they were ordering a new assembly. That was all last week. The parts are now in apparently but I have not had a chance to bring it in to see exactly what they are replacing or what the TSB exactly is. I am close to 30k now on the truck.

It must be a Toyota thing. Both my Corollas and my wife's Paseo had squeaky clutch pedals.

Granted, mine's an '04 but the service advisor gave me a printout of the clutch assembly and all the parts they would need to order to replace it. When I get home later I'll try to remember to take a photo and post it. Came out to almost $600 in parts/labor though, so I've just opted to keep lubing it until that stops working.

It's the TSB from the Gen2 there isn't one specific for the 3rd gen but its the same clutch mechanism so I'm betting "good" dealerships that like repeat business are taking care of their customers they want to.. well repeat purchase!

I am going to make that point to the dealership. Here's the main point: My truck cost $35K. The clutch pedal should not squeak after 8K miles. Fix it. The End.

    Same squeaky clutch pedal problem.

At my 10k service I told the dealer I had a squeaky clutch pedal. The service rep said there is nothing they can do except grease it and that this is a common complaint. They said they lubricated it. It did nothing.

After some further research I discovered that the 2016 Tacoma's use the part numbers from the 2nd gen TSB, meaning that the 2016's already use the replacement parts. Apparently it does not matter seeing as it still squeaks.

The title states OR, are the transmissions or clutches different on the OR versus the others or is this specific to the OR?

Sounds like Toyota needs to redesign their clutch mechanism if nothing else.
