long time reader, first time poster. I have a 2014 Tacoma 6cyl 6 spd that I've had 2 months. I'm at about 22000 miles and just noticed a clutch creak/squeak noise. This is all the info I have and would greatly appreciate any suggestions!

(Hopefully all of this is relevant)
Last weekend I noticed it was all of a sudden really hard/impossible to get into reverse. It felt like the shifter hit a wall. After a while it seemed to fix itself and not be a problem.

That was Saturday, starting on Monday when I first started my truck, there was a creak when releasing the clutch in gear (when in neutral and pushing the clutch is and letting go, there was no creak )

Today for the first time I ground gears moving from first to second (this may have been me, but have never ground gears before, was trying to be cautious and shift at a little lower rpm than normal)

Today, Tuesday, for the first half of the day the creak was there. Second half of the day it seemed to disappear.

It has been 35-50 degrees in Maine and rainy lately (when this started happening)

Cannot hear any creak while in neutral.

I've read many forums about the clutch squeak but am just wondering if this is something to worry about. I am getting my 20000 mile service done tomorrow at the dealership I purchased from and will see what they say. Again, thanks for any help!

Now that I reread the OPs Post I am not sure of the description, I originally thought he was talking about the creak sound in the pedal itself but could also be talking about the Throwout Bearing Chirp.

If you have a warranty, see if they'll cover it. My 09 6sp had a creak in the pedal and under the truck...also had the common throw our bearing noise. Toyota has an updated pedal assembly and throw out bearing kit and they fixed everything for me under the certified powertrain warranty since i bought the truck from them used.

The dealership is inspecting it right now. Problem is the creak went away completely. It was rainy the last few days and sunny today. However, no issues previously in rain. I'll post what I find. Thanks to the forum for all the great info! Hopefully I can contribute with what little auto knowledge I have.

Let us know what the dealer says about the squeaky clutch, I have one in my manual too but it's a 2004. Curious if it's something that just needs to be lubed or if it's a bigger issue.

It's not a 'chirp' so much as a squeak...it sounds just like it does when you step on the clutch with wet boots on, but not that squeaky.

When I was offroading the other day, the squeak disappeared after awhile (presumably because it was being used so much), but it comes back after the truck sits for awhile and cools down.

Of course everything sounded good when getting to the dealer. I've narrowed down when it's happening. Only when it's below 40 degrees f. Any other time when warming it makes no squeak at all. It started only squeaking when in gear, now I can push the clutch in/out while in neutral and can hear/feel the squeak. I will be returning to the shop again to get this addressed.
