Yes, I have used the search function and I have read just about every clutch related thread. My 09 is gonna need a clutch soon. I am looking for feedback for those who have done a performance clutch upgrade. I do quite a bit of offroading (adventure wheeling/overlanding) and will be adding a trailer at some point. I recently fried my second transfercase shift motor, so the FJ/4R t-case swap is about to happen as well. Might as well take care of it all in one shot, right? I've looked at URD and LCE since they both have upgraded flywheels. For those who have done this, what are the pros/cons vs going back stock?

My son has been living an expensive nightmare. I don't know the brand but I'll try to find out. According to him it was an absolute must on every 4x's bucket list...

Long story short the now inaccessible (relocated inside the bell housing/trans removal) blew the seal. The NEW seal from the manufacturer was different. They swore was correct. Blew out not long afterward again. On the 3rd. Compound this x's down time and $ sent... well... We'll see how long this one last. Stick with Toyota quality and ease of factory engineered, IMO.

That's most likely the clutchmasters hydraulic throw out bearing. Your son should just go back to stock as those hydro bearings are known to fail.

If he's taking it to a shop to fix that would be $$$$

I had one that failed in not many miles. Didn't trust it anymore at that point so went back to stock throw out bearing, lever and slave cylinder.
