I've put just over 1k miles on my 4 cyl so far. I've noticed a slight rattle when at a stop & am just curious how normal it is.

    a/c on & in neutral = rattle
depress clutch or turn a/c off makes it stop

not very loud, just noticable enough for me to ask

I think I have the exact same thing. If the shifter is in neutral and the clutch is out sitting at a light, I hear a rattle. If I touch the shifter tho and slightly adjust it (still in neutral), it goes away. My AC is not on tho, but the fan is. It doesn't do it every day tho. I think we have a similar problem.

My work truck (09 2wd 4cyl 5speed) does the same thing. I consider it a quirk, not a problem. There is talk on here about it someplace. Common. Took awhile for me to hear it after listening to everyone else describe it, but it is there.
