    Good Morning,

    I own a 2011 5 Speed, 4 Cylinder, 4x4 Tacoma, 78xxx miles

I started a thread in January 2015 (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2011-tacoma-5-speed-4x4-4-cyl-acceleration-issues.358609/) about my original clutch starting to slip. I replaced it at the Toyota dealer in February 2015. This past weekend i noticed the clutch starting to slip.

I noticed when I was in 4th gear. When accelerating onto a highway, if I shift up to a higher gear I notice the RPM increasing without the truck accelerating. It isn't happening consistently. It's not easy to reproduce it. Like I said, it feels like the start of the slip - or something else. The pavement has been dry. My tires need replaced but they aren't slicks by any means.

I am not a new driver to a manual transmission. I have over 20 years of experience and I have driven and owned much more powerful vehicles than my Tacoma. I don't put tons of miles on my truck. My commute is short so maybe 10 - 12k miles a year total usage. I live in a flat/ hilly enviroment - it's not crazy steep mountains area. I don't drive in much stop and go conditions - really just normal traffic lights on my 9 minute (mostly) highway commute. I don't use the 4x4 at all if ever. I don't haul anything or abuse my truck. Outside of the clutch issues, my truck runs great.

When I got my clutch replaced 18 months ago, I believe they replaced everything with OEM which might have included a default Mexican made components. Anyone have suggestions for having the dealership fix this? I know they will say that a clutch is a wear and tare part but 18 months with light / normal usage? Could it be anything other than a clutch? I can't afford another $1700 clutch replacement. What suggestions do you have for getting this resolved? Any help and suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!
