Not sure if ATs and MTs are different, but the one above the Y pipe had to go. It was slicing me up.

All good! I didn't get around to it this weekend and I'm going to do the job myself either this weekend or next week since I'm just getting 'Fuck you' $1500 in labor quotes for my Flywheel/Clutch/Throwout bearing install when shopping the job around, so this response was super helpful.

You must have replaced #7 in this exhaust diagram in favor of #11? This stupid site I'm working with doesn't tell me whether or not it's for both sides. https://trdshop.carlocktoyotaoftupe...-pro--3-5l-v6-gas/exhaust--exhaust-components

    You're welcome!

Yessir. Number 7. It is the same one for both sides.

I've seen places that showed two of the same and two different ones for Number 11. When they are different, the right one is stupid pricy.

Yeah. The thoughts of labor costs is scary considering how easy it all is once the trans is out.

Yeah I think the right was like $45. Thanks for the pro tip saved me $30. For some reason I thought the cats were farther up and angled more but I crawled under there to check and it’s easy access. Job definitely looks straightforward and the kit I bought from centerforce really goes into incredible detail in terms of prepping the flywheel surface and greasing the TOB. Yeah, I read the fucking manual. Wish me luck!

$45 isn't bad, but those others are about $8.

The worst parts are the wire harness and upper bolts. Nothing that you can really do about the harness. Friggin' 31in extension that O'Reilly's had was killier.

    Good luck!

It's just a clip bubba, push the clip down and disconnect the wires from the housing and let them dangle. Heat gun and a 90 degree angle pick or a little flathead usually does the trick for me if one is stubborn. Then dialectric grease on every single one before I reconnect it so I don't struggle next time.

Squeeze the tab and pull. It can be difficult to see the tab. Use a flashlight.

Just wait til you get to the clips you've gotta undo near the top side of the transmission :annoyed: tight quarters and sharp edges await!

Undoing the wiring harness and the bolt for the clutch line at the top totally sucked…

Right off the bat you have to let the transmission hang down, otherwise the body blocks the view. The wiring harness you can really only do by feel with a small ratchet and 10mm socket. Or maybe a ratcheting wrench. The clutch line support I used an extension and a swivel socket. It was a pain but with a light on the floor shining up at it, it was doable.

thanks. I didn't even realize that the clutch line had a support. I'll keep working at it then

It’s up towards the top of the bellhousing if I remember right. It was difficult to get to even with the transmission hanging down.

Hey folks, I'm looking at clutch options for my 2020 MT with a Magnuson super charger. I am running an 87mm pulley on the SC, and the clutch on it right now is still factory. I called Centerforce, and they just recommend their Centerforce II kit and ClutchMasters recommends their FX300 kit, but just curious if anyone else has any input on a good quality setup with the super charger installed. Thanks!

my clutch is currently at 290,000 km and I’m just starting to experience the slippage that people in this thread are talking about hence why I am here.

any newer information on what everyone’s favorite Kit are? Anything else I should be looking at while doing it?

If the OEM gives you 290k, why not get the same thing.

Now pivot ball, fork, throwout bearing, slave cylinder are the normal items to replace while the trans is out. Also check the coolant bypass.

I just installed this last weekend:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CMX9TVGW

Note that this kit came in a single Flat Rate box with no MFG packaging. I was not too thrilled about that, but for the price and feel of things right now, I'm pretty happy.

It was more to solve my TOB nightmare. No obvious wear on the clutch coming out. There were one or two loose PP bolts though.

BTW, that TOB was bought from a dealer. I installed it in mid-August, 2023 about 15,000mi ago. :annoyed:
