Automatics don't do that. Just a bit of humor.
Seriously, probably hot spots on the flywheel and pressure plate. R&R a new disk, and resurface the flywheel.

A lot of folks say that they wish they going in there sooner. Hahaha!

When you do get in, be sure to toss some sound insulation on the inside of the heat shield. It quiets down the clutch clank that sometimes happens.

@arthur106 I've experienced the same thing, but only on the first few stop and goes on damp mornings. Initially I thought it was due to not giving enough throttle but that only made it feel worse.

After about a mile of driving it goes away, just as @Speedfreak mentioned.

I’m still rocking Tridents hard line. Hope it lasts.

There is no reason that it shouldn't. Same material as the other clutch and brake lines on the Taco.

Mine has done this since new. Looking forward to replacing it with decent clutch and flywheel someday.

Last truck I had that did this had two weak springs in the disc. As in the springs were loose.

I had shuddering on my 2001 Subaru and they replaced the clutch under warranty. Apparently, they changed the clutch disk material that year and it caused the same issue for a lot of customers. It wasn’t super annoying to me and I probably wouldn’t have done anything about it unless Subaru offered to fix it for free.

I’ve never experienced anything similar on my 2020 taco.

I also still have my accumulator with no complaints.

If there were really a problem with any of the clutch hardware, would it smooth out after the first few takeoffs? Seems like damaged hardware would be a constant shudder.

FWIW i had a '17 4 cylinder with the 5 speed a few years ago, did the exact same thing. First few takeoffs were a little grabby.

Same story with both of my third gen M/Ts. Sorry, nothing changes in that regard when the accumulator is removed/modded.
