Ok so my slave cylinder was leaking. All right i replaced it. Almost. I have it mounted and all that's left is to get the hard line into the slave. I tried for a few hours to get the nut started to no avail. I can't tell if my problem is the angle or if i just forgot how to screw things into other things! Any tips are greatly appreciated. The nut is a 10mm and as far as i can tell so is the slave. The dust cap on the new slave fit just the same in the old one. Is it reversed threaded or something? Please help this wannabe shade mechanic! Thanks for any input.

Don’t be afraid to bend the line a little to get it perfectly aligned. Better yet, if I remember correctly you can unmount the slave cylinder and try threading it like that.

Try loosing the mount bolts or remove the mount bolts altogether, start the slave cylinder line, install/retighten the mount bolts, and then tighten the slave cylinder line.

it seems that the only way to do this right is to lay on your back in the wet gravel with hydraulic fluid dripping down your arm into your arm pit...

like stated above, see if the line will thread on with the slave cylinder loose for the mount for more "wiggle" room.

If its anything like the 2nd gen master cyl it is a flared end on the line that could be why youre having trouble getting the nut started. I fought mine for a long time too and eventually got a file and filed down the end little by little until i was able to get it started.

I threaded the line into the slave, then bolted the slave in place. That was hard, too, but less so than the other way around.

    All good ideas !

It will only start to thread when the hydraulic Fluid is running down your arm.

One of the laws of the Multiverse you just can`t get around .
